I get what you are saying, but I think we need to get to 10 or 11 conference wins to get to the dance, which means we probably need to win 2 of our next 3. Losing this game would make that hard, and most defiantly would be a setback. It does not end our season, but it the equivalent to getting dysentery on the Oregon Trail.

I agree, but lets go way back to 2005 and our last trip to the NCAA tournament.

We started the conference season with a few losses and played an absolutely ****** game at Hilton against Colorado early in the conference season. That game against Colorado was the WORST game I've ever attended at Hilton. Worse then all of the clunkers with McDermott and all of Hoiberg's losses against UNI.

Anyway, if you had told me that team could lose that ugly and then run off a bunch of wins against great teams, I would have said you were crazy.

Yep, it's like the people who were saying we won't win more than two conference games after the clunker we had against MVSU.

The infamous game that went to OT tied at 50? That game made me want to poke my eyes out. I remember that being a very cold and very windy night.

this game is a must win...our schedule is getting tougher after this game so we need to win against the worst team in our conference.

Tech's RPI is 208 I believe...our worst loss was against Drake who is around 90 in the RPI...that's why we would be in the field today because we have no horrible losses (key word is horrible). A loss against Tech would be a loss the committee would use as an exucse to keep us out.

The optimist in me hopes for a TAM performance, taking charge and letting it roll comfortably to victory on ESPN2. The long-time Cyclone worry-wart remembers all the times ISU provided lame-*** conference teams their first and/or only conference win to embarrase themselves and ISU in the process.

Let's keep working to kill those types of memories and negative expectations.

WIN BIG! (At least win, ok?)

As PR says...this is the biggest game of the year....because it is the next one.

After this....at Texas is the biggest game of the year.

All 2 of them, and only 1 in Hilton?

This stupid debate over whether this is "must win" or the definition... Is fruitless, and killing this thread.

Let's talk about something else - like another triple double, or who's going to lead in scoring etc.

What are the chances ESPN starts this game on time. It would appear that the Creighton game won't nearly be done by 4, but will ESPN flip broadcast anyway with the blowout?

Usually give 5 or so minutes past 4 PM. Other than that they won't give much time. Sucks. Big pet peeve of mine when games over ride into another game.
