Since the lovely LHN had a firm grip on the TV rights I was only able to listen to JW and Heft tonight like most fans. Anyway it seemed that John was getting a little upset about the officials not calling it both ways, at least as far as fouls went. I was wondering if any of you that were able to attned noticed this and have anything to comment on it. Thanks and go state!

the refs weren't bad...we had more fouls go our way I believe..

Only debatable call was the Wangmene Flop on Royce then Wangmene elbowed him and no call.

People blaming the refs need to understand our team still has a ways to go, I think last night showed that.

I didn't like that one foul call when they gave them the bucket and the foul on Gibson I believe it was. That was really late in the game.

It is rare that I hate on the refs too much. Reffing basketball has to be the hardest of any sport.

Texas definitely had the edge when it comes to officiating (but thats not unexpected). That foul call on the three point shot (on Mcgee) was a really bad call imo, looked like a complete flop.

This. Texas gave us the opp. to take the game and we CHOKED. We have one of the best big men in this league but his failure to hit free throws has already probably cost us a game before tonight. I think we can all rest easy about RW leaving early.

There will be calls to whine about in every game, but overall there was no reason to be upset with the refs tonight. I'd take tonight's refs over the refs from the first Texas game any day.

There were some bad calls (the foul on the 3 pt shot, a couple obvious flops) but overall not a horribly called game (nothing compared to what you see week in and week out @KU).

We had a pretty bad game, we do one of a list of things and we could win that game.

I remember Walters saying in the first half that Texas hardly had any fouls but he thought it had more to do with them getting into good positions on D, rather than the refs.

I didn't think the refs were wildly bad, nor were there any calls I felt really swung momemntum against us.

We just sucked complete dong, and still almost won.

I heard that also. I saw the 2nd half and I didn't think there was anything to ***** about. If we don't get killed in the middle of the game in a few things, probably win.

Refs weren't bad. A few bad calls, but you have to deal with that on the road. Plenty of other things to point to for why we lost.

Officials are not why we lost that game. There were some calls you could argue about, but that will always be the case.

The bottom line is we simply did not play smart enough on the offensive end of the floor to win the game.

John and Eric always think ISU is getting hosed by the refs. They have made comments in the past about calls that were not that bad. Things always look worse in person.

I thought the officiating was pretty good. Thought that TX got away with a lot of moving picks on SC when they made the run in the second half. Brown was doing a lot of pushing off with his off arm, but that is something that gets called pretty inconsistantly. ISU had a couple of defenders knocked down that may have been charges or flops, hard to tell with the tiny picture. RW got called for a charge that was total BS. Basically the kind of stuff you expect on the road.

I imagine John and Eric are hesitant to be too hard on individual players so their frustrations get taken out of the refs.
