There is a reason Barry A, who is past 65 and headed toward 70, has not retired yet. His replacement is not yet available as he has not finished his job here yet.

I know it's naive to think JP is here for the rest of his career, but I don't like your post

The business world is a complex place. College sports is a business and we currently have one of the best as our leader. He has one piece left in his to do list at ISU -- the SEZ!!

I am curious about where you're getting all your information about JP: his "to do" list and his career plans. Are you personally well acquainted with him enough so he is confiding these things to you? Are you on one of the ISU Boards or the Board of Regents so you have some factual insider info? Just want to verify the basis for all your statements.

I do happen to know him rather well and I couldn't disagree with you more on both accounts. And, I don't see how it helps ISU to be making statements like this if they are not based on factual knowledge. Speculation and conjecture rarely makes things better in any organization from my experience.

Storm cellar?

Plus it'll be a perfect place for the crowd to wait out any severe weather.
Win Win!

close but not perfect.

Perfect is spending the tornado warning in the Jake with some of the cheer girls (like my boys and I did at the CO game) :0)

It's what Becky does on here. Makes up stuff and hopes it sticks. When it's wrong it's b/c things change. Jamie Pollard would never tell an average donor from out east that he plans on leaving ISU to go to Wisconsin. Anyone who believes 1/4 of what Becky says.....well they aren't smart.

This may be the best post I have ever seen on this board. For some reason I am dying laughing at that. Great post.

And I agree. Siren, Cyclone Warning...BEEP....BEEP...BEEP thing. And if they come out of a storm cellar....I will also rip peoples faces off.

It sounds like beer sales aren't really what makes fans misbehave. Apparently it is storm cellars...

Still trying to figure out best time to go -- likely early june. Please please ... you and J join us. Free after the flight.

E has added 'plane ride to the beach' to his bedtime prayers -- damn cute if I do say so myself. We flew the helicoptor today, he loves being the co-pilot. Amazing 2 year old.
FYI....all the truly successfull people I've ever met don't need to talk about themselves--other people do that for them. The opposite is usually true too--the people who no one else cares about tend to talk about themselves at every opportunity. Good luck with your little man's syndrome.

It's not some super secret information for gawd's sake.

You are right. Every time Pollard speaks he mentions how he's about to leave Iowa State.......

Nothing says, "give me your $$$" to donors more than telling them "I'm leaving"

Just so I understand what you are saying... Alvarez is putting off retirement as AD at Wisconsin until JP encloses the south end zone at Iowa State?

Do you really believe the crap you write?

What level do you supposedly donate at again?

I love what Jamie has accomplished here since his arrival, but I do think down the road he will leave for another AD job. I hope he does not, but you gotta believe once the Wisky job opens up he will be top candidate.

I agree with you but rebeccacy suggests that Alvarez and JP have some agreement that JP won't leave ISU until the end zone is done... Foolish!

Why would that matter? People say what they want even though it may not be true. The SEZ project needs to happen, but does not mean Jamie it skipping town after it is complete.

I know im not smart but why is Wisky sooooo much better job than ISU :wideeyed:

if its family, that is one thing

JP is from Wisconsin, graduated from UW-Oshkosh (and as with all UW-______ schools, they're all Badger fans first and school they attend next), and his first major job was Deputy AD at UW-Madison. It would be essentially homecoming for the guy, his dream job if you will. Which is why it's pretty much a given if JP continues to do great things at ISU the UW job is his when Alvarez if he wants it.
