ISU Basketball is so much fun to watch again - for multiple reasons!

If you look at the top teams in college baskeball this year, they almost all have one common denominator...length! Davis at UK, Hensen at UNC, Melo at Syracuse, etc.

Obviously there are exceptions (see Missery), but a long, strong defensive presense in the middle makes a huge difference and would make this team (assuming White stays) a possible Final Four quality team.

I have length.

Per his post Mizzou is missing a long and strong defensive presence in the middle. They are not. Ricardo Ratliffe is that presence.

Ok, I'm trying to stay in the moment because we have something pretty good going right now, but it's hard not to get a little excited about the thought of:

5-Pelle
4-Royce
3-Babb
2-Clyburn
1-Lucious

with Ejim, McGee, Percy and Niang off the bench.

That team would have the potential to be the best ever at ISU, imo.

Adding Long or Bubu to the second group; that team could beat many other teams around the country.

Wow this would be fantastic as long as he can get eligible. Lot of good offers on the table though, going to be tough. I'd play for ISU though :)

Just because the kid was ranked 23 on rivals for the class of 2011 does not mean that if we signed him he would come in and be a star right away. There are kids that are ranked in the top 25 of that class that are struggling. Additionally, I don't think he was ranked as high on ESPN or Scout. So I wouldn't be so fast to put him in as a starter before he is even offered and before he ever plays a college basketball game. People have him staring over Ejim who will be a junior and is one of the best rebounders in the big 12.

I'm not sure if he would start game 1, but based on his videos, he would contribute significantly from day 1. He would give us a defensive and offensive presence in the paint that would compliment Royce perfectly.

Royce would be damn near impossible to stop with a player like Pelle, because either you double Royce as he drives to the hoop and give up a dunk/alley-oop to Pelle, or stay on Pelle and watch Royce posterize your post defender.
