Can somebody link the 20/30 deal available online? I'm doing this.

Looks like I'll be dropping service for a year, then coming back.

Hoping the phone mobile hot spot can carry me for a year...

Has anyone tried the 3G speed off one of the Verizon Mobile phones?

i just signed up for an install of the 12 mbps service for $19.95 for first 12 months and $29.95 for next 12 months. Price does not include modem rental fee of $5 a month. I'll probably just buy one eventually, or does someone have a used one laying around I could buy?

Well, I just had this installed yesterday. For those of you with the 12 Mbps service, what download speeds do you typically get? Over a wireless connection, I'm only getting around 9 Mbps tops, but often around 7 Mbps.

But depending on the time of day and whatever it'll be anywhere from 7-8 to the full 12, I don't notice any slow down unless it gets much lower than that though, about 3-4 and I'll start noticing a problem.

I was a Mediacom customer for a long time (internet and cable). I just switched over my Century/Link phone to Mediacom. I got it for $4.95/month for one year and then goes to 29.95. Century/Link was running me about $70/month so it saves me a lot of money on phones service. They also increased my internet speed to 12mbs. I guess the phone requires more speed. Total bill per month is around $135. So, I don't think that is too bad. I see where new customers can get all three bundled for 29.95 each for two years....

I was just looking at that same flyer and fine print over lunch.

Seems too good to be true...since Qwest went up from the intro price to $60 for internet only, and all other Mediacom deals required bundling. As far as I can tell, it is just $19.99 and applies for internet only.

We have three choices in the Chicago suburbs and reportedly, Verizon, will be the fourth option in 2012. As a result, I just switched from AT&T Phone/Internet/Cable to WOW with 50Mbps/5Mbps Internet and the monthly bill went down because WOW will negotiate.

My actual Speakeasy speeds this morning are 50.94Mbps Download/5.56Mbps Upload.

That's what competition does in the marketplace.

Yep, and that's why it sucks that Mediacom is the only cable internet provider here. They have abused the hell out of us long-time subscribers and refuse to give us deals that are anywhere similar to those that new customers get. I was paying (sold the house a month ago and working on getting a new place) $150/month for digital cable and internet, no DVR, only one digital box, no phone. Ridiculous that their prices have gotten so high and its because customers only have two other options for TV, both being satellite providers.

However, I will definitely be looking into the $19.95/month cable internet deal when we get our new place, along with DirecTV for television.

Has anyone had to arrange for the cable line to be run from the source to your house?

I am thinking of doing this because Century Link sucks. My only thing is that there is no cable run to the house.

Any ideas on the cost of this?

They do this for you. We've never had cable tv in our house, so they ran a cable line from the box at the back of the lot to our house. They said Mediacom will send out someone in the next couple weeks to bury the cable.

Mediacom still offers this deal, I am thinking of taking them up on it. Qwest/CL has just been terrible the last 6 months. I am lucky to get 768kbps during the evenings. Netflix is unusable from 3pm till midnight.

Just switched to mediacom for internet, phone, and TV. I never had a phone before but needed it for business. Saved $40 a month on packaging it with mediacom and I have HD in the basement now when I didn't before

CenturyLinkHelp has been sitting by quietly since October just waiting for his moment to strike.

That is funny... This link must have gotten picked up on google.

I did have CenturyLink call me today and offer to move me from an older DSL line to fiber to see if that helped my speed issues. Hopefully it will because I don't want to give mediacom a dime.

I just got this. It is $19.99 for the first year and $29.99 for the 2nd plus $5/month for modem rental (planning on getting my own).

It was suppose to be the 12Mbps, but I've been getting closer to their intro 3Mbps service. What speeds are people getting with speedtest sites and Mediacom.

Head over to dslreports.com and and pm MediacomChad. Ask him to take a look at your modem and tell them what is going. Hopefully he will be able to get you closer to the speed advertised. I just had Ultra installed today and I am getting the full 50 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up.
