I get uncomfortable when people speculate who might be unhappy or leaving. It just doesn't sit well with me either.

But fans will be fans. The NEXT recruit is always better than the players you have NOW.

Of course the high rating of this guy drives the speculation to ridiculousness in this case.

As the number 1 center in 2011 I think it's safe to say that he is better than Railey.

he's got talent and looks like he's playing on an 8 foot hoop. This is a risky pick due to academics and a potentially young mind behind in maturity. For him to play for the mayor he will need to put his big boy pants on real quick. I hope he's up for he challenge.

but will we be ranked if he comes here??

That's a question thats hard to answer. Depends on how the team meshes. This team would be ranked if we wouldn't have lost to Drake or UNI. Chemistry is that important.

Talent wise, if he comes here, we're probably at worst top 15 in talent with 3 starters being potential NBA players. We will probably be ranked in the preseason but will lose a lot of votes if we let those mid-majors beat us down. We will be one of the most athletic teams in the nation.

I get uncomfortable when we suck. Recruiting over current players is a necessary evil.

In a perfect world, if we recruit a kid, they do well in the classrrom, have a good attitude, stay out of trouble, and are supportive of their team, I wouldn't want to see them run off for lack of on the court/field contributions. You better not be missing on many kids talent-wise in this scenario though.

Uconn brought in the number 1 center from later years class and removed a schoolly from a bench warmer! We should do the same

You can't compare Palmdale to Compton. Compton is South Central LA.....Palmdale is a much, much newer community out in the desert well north of LA, near Edwards Air Force base. The two communities are nothing alike.

Not to be picky but Compton is not south Central

That just isn't how it works nowadays. Too much money is in college athletics, too many eyes are watching. If the kid isn't a big 12 talent and we gave him two or three free years of school at ISU, it isn't like we are ruining his life. Whoever it would be would be free to transfer wherever he is wanted. We aren't kicking them out of college.

Exactly. It's not exactly like Hoiberg is throwing these guys on the street. It's often in the best interest of the player, assuming they want to contribute, to transfer to a different school that gives them the ability to do so.

THANK YOU! It's pretty dam apparent that Railey is not a big 12 talent and wont be getting quality minutes unless he improves significantly. He got 2 free years of college to be a basketball player, yet he never plays. If he wants to stay on the ISU bball team next year as a walk on, then sweet, he must really love ISU. But he could also go to most mid majors and start or some smaller D-1 school and have a good career. He's not terrible, he's just not a big 12 talent.

Just looked at his rivals profile and the schools of interest moved from all the schools mentioned earlier, to just 3

SDSU
St John's
and
ISU...

What does this mean??

It means that a couple of Rivals guys sprung into action and got the scoop after CW broke the news.

I think this is a good development.
