Okay...just noticed something here. I checked his profile this morning. Iowa State was not listed, and he was 4 star. Now, Iowa State is listed and he's a 5 star?!?!

Isn't he supposed to be listed as a 3 star now? Or is that just football recruits?

lol. people and their 'stars'. if the kid can play, the kid can play.

Nope. He was a St. Johns recruit but never made it there. Went to a prep school so wouldn't be a transfer.
Thanks to you, and whoever offered the "fify". Not terribly sharp tonight. About to go home and be seriously ill, I'm pretty sure.

This guy looks pretty dang good even though all I saw were dunks/blocks in his highlight videos. If he wants to come, tell Railey he can stay, but as a walk-on.
Not sure that you can pull a scholly from a player,a dn keep him on the team, as far as roster limits. Once he's a recruited player, he's still a recruited player. I could be wrong about that.

Just curious--why is everyone so set on running Railey's life for him?

That's entirely aside from the fact that there's been plenty of attrition every year, without "encouraging" somone to depart.

It goes from year-to-year. All I'm saying is that if he wants to play, he should go somewhere else. I don't dislike him or think he's bad. I just think the players we have along with the recruits coming in, it would be in his best interest to leave. Don't know how you can disagree with that.

Railey can't be a walkon at ISU. Scholly or transfer.

Okay well give him the slight boot outta town. If anyone thinks it is in his best interest to stay here I'll take two of whatever drugs they are taking.

It doesn't have to be one extreme or the other. Railey may have already decided that HE is interested in transferring in order to get more PT

Evidently CBS Sports writer Jeff Goodman said in mid-December that it appeared Pelle would commit to UNLV and make it official in January. Later in the week, he changed it to "favors." It appears that he's been close to going to St. Johns, SDSU, and UNLV. Now, a lot of sources I'm reading from say he hates practicing basketball and hates doing homework. I can understand the latter of the two. But I think Fred can really change his mindset if his attitude is that bad.

Bubu wasn't recruited. Once recruited you can't be a walk on I believe. Scholarships are definitely for one year as mentioned.

Doubt it. If a kid hates going homework he will always it. Fred has no pep talks for that. Should just play oversees and skip college if this is true.

I love seeing that Fred is continuing to get great talent looking at Iowa State...

... but put me in the group that gets disapointed with other fans who immediately start throwing out names of our current players that will get replaced by this "recruit who is just CONSIDERING Iowa State".

It's not our job as fans to determine which of players at Iowa State are good enough to continue to play for us. That's Fred's job. We have no clue what his plan's are for Railey or Sledge (a Freshman none the less). Maybe he's got big plans on how to use those guys in future years.

Even if he doesn't, you don't see Fred coming onto the message boards talking about which players he wants to leave his program. That kind of stuff should be handled between Fred and the players. I don't think we need to help Fred do his job by trying to "drive off" some of his current players by showing them what you think of their talent level from the few minutes you've seen them play.

My job as a fan is to cheer for the guys we've got who are putting in work to help OUR team reach success.

Go ahead and get excited about the possibility of brining in great talent... but unless you don't like hearing the players comment about how we've got the best fans in the nation... there's no point in us stating which players we think need to leave our team.

By the way... I'm not calling out anyone in particular in this thread, so even if you were somewhat critical of some of our players, I'm not saying you can't do that. I'm just stating a general feeling/opinion that I have.
