Jeff Withey would like to have a word with you.

Big men take time. Railey may never develop into a contributor, but as long as Fred keeps him on the team, I will assume there's a good reason for it.

I would punch Withey in the mouth if he wanted to talk to me, because im an ISU fan.

Wait wasn't Bubu a "recruited" walk on? What does recruiting mean in that type of situation?

I don't think he was technically recruited. Maybe preferred is the word you are looking for?

I think the staff could swing it because he is from Ames and his parents work for ISU.

From what I've heard with some D1 bball players, these restrictions aren't anywhere near as strict or as black&white as they are sometimes viewed.

hmmm maybe that was the word im looking for. But wouldnt you still have to technically recruit a kid to make him a walk on? Your not just going to say "o, i heard this kid was really good, lets make him a walk on"! You would have to watch him play and talk to him.

Here nor there
Wow. Pelle could be the final piece to make a run at it all.

Dreaming about Luscious throwing lobs to this guy!!!!

I am dreaming about White throwing lobs to this guy.

Thanks, let's hope not. I like Bookers game. He brings some intensity off the bench.

Exactly. Booker and Percy are both huge for next year (and Percy for the future of the program). Booker is huge off the bench as we otherwise lack a big that can strech the defense (and thus open it up down-low for White), plus he gives us solid defense. Gibson is our best low-post scorer, and as a sophomore should be greatly improved on defense. Both these guys will play a lot next year. Georges is going to be a 3-year starer, but he is looking at a redshirt as a freshman imo.

Fred has really got things rolling.

Sorry about that. Im just trying to be realistic. Done for the night.

Being realistic is acknowledging that a couple players won't be under scholarship next year. What bothers some people is calling out players currently working their tales off for this team and saying they won't be here next year or even hoping they won't be here next year.

1. The guy is just visiting
2. He sounds like he would be an outstanding addition that could be the missing link to a helluva run
3. I don't see him starting over Ejim

Who did that? I only remember saying if Railey wants to play, he'll transfer, because ISU MBB will be too good.

That is where the gray area is. How it supposedly work is Bubu going to McD and saying that he would be interested in walking on to the team and McD would then decide if he was good enough to be on the team as a walk on. He could tell the coach that he would like to walk on and hopefully someday earn a scholarship if that is something he wanted.

Agreed. I still think Ejim will start.

I seriously doubt that. Niang actually happens to be an inside/outside 3/4 man and the plan is to use him to score in the post and also be able to stretch the floor and hit 3s, so if Booker were to for some reason be gone Niang would likely fill his role.

EDIT: The redshirting part.

Plenty of people. I'm not saying you did. I'm just pointing out you should understand why some people get all hot and bothered.
