Does anybody have Niang's stats from this year? I remember hearing a about a game where he knocked down a few threes, but I'm curious how many/what percent he's hit this year... It's nice to have a post that can stretch the floor. JVB, Booker, Niang? That said... I also like having my post players rebound well, which can be tough as I hear rebounds generally don't hang out downtown.
JVB couldn't stretch the floor. You have to be able to shoot the three AND play in the post to do that. He did one of those but NOT both.

lolwut?

You can give up your scholarship.

Austin Pehl up at UNI did pretty much the same thing this season so they could sign a kid from the Quakerdale School and is a walk-on for this season. Next year he gets his scholly back since the only player the Panthers lose is Johnny Moran.

He's long, quick on his feet, and has nice hands for a big man. Reminds me of Kelvin Cato, and we know how much the rest of the league liked posting up in the paint with him on patrol.

Appears more skilled than Cato as he can dribble/drive and make shots with either hand.

It will play it's self out, if Pelle wants to play next to White, Niang, Eijm, Gibson and Booker next year - they will find a way for him to get to Ames.

Damn that's a lot of talent in the blocks. Wouldn't have to worry about foul trouble.

I still wouldn't rule it out. He's not playing much and guys do it every year.
I love Booker. I like that he can shoot the three and always is a strong body down low. I hope he stays next year. I really do. Percy still needs to grow, and will still be growing next year. I don't think Booker will leave. My money is on Railey or Sledge.

Problem is he's not consistantly in the rotation now, if we add Pelle he'll move on. Railey's here till Fred tells him to leave.

Damn we have a good (internet) fan base. 400 responses to this thread already. A lot of other schools do not even get that many posts in a game thread.

it's also possible Long won't make it here.. surprised no one has mentioned him in the discussions about people transferring.

Fact of the matter is that we are over signed...so somebody is leaving to make room..if Pelle signs then 2 people are gone.

I'm confident Long won't make it here (just a feeling) and somebody on the team is gone...and we will sign one more...also Royce is staying I'm willing to bet real money on that.

Haven't heard anything about Long, where are you getting that info?

No way Naz doesn't make it, unless it's grade related or something else. He's stoked to be a Cyclone.

I don't like how you folks are all for dropping members of the current team so quickly and making bets on who wont be around. Those guys who you mention have been practicing and working hard for the betterment of the team.

It is like you sit and watch Baywatch with your GF and talk about how awesome and beautiful the life guards so much that your GF leaves you and the lifeguard just wanted your attention so you are ultimatly left alone.

Grass isn't always greener on the other side gents.

Let Fred handle his biz and support all players wearing cardinal and gold please not just the 5 on the floor.

Naz will stay. We wouldn't replace him with a center anyways. Fred loves his guards. Peele won't commit though

I would say good chance Tavon Sledge and Jordon Railey will transfer, Naz Long is doing everything he needs to to get here I think he is fine. And If Pelle signs we could be very very good next year. That would be very deep talented team. You add Kory Lucious and Will Clyburn and Royce knows he is a year away. he is projected as a middle second round pick he will not leave for that and could be a top 15 pick in 2013 if he continues to improve and gets a mid range jumper down.
