Prestige and Insomnia were meh. Batman Begins and Inception were good but drug on too long. He knocked it out of the park with Dark Knight and Memento.
You can't put him on the same level as Kubrick or Scorcese yet.
I'm not, yet. I agree with you about Insomnia. It had an original idea, decent story, but his trademark execution wasn't quite there yet.
I think the Prestige is underappreciated by a lot of people. Sure, it's a little slow compared to the other movies he's done, but the story and acting were top-notch in this one. Loved the idea that Bale/Jackman were trying to one-up the other by introducing science into their performances. Great ending, too.
By my count that's 6 out of 10 for Nolan. Not bad at all for someone whose first directing credit was only 15 years ago.
