I love it. I think little brother syndrome has been cured as long as Kirky has a losing record against us. JP has earned the right to do whatever he wants. The location is definitely aimed at Iowa for the CR spot but overall they are spread out in areas that will receive lots of attention. I got a good laugh out of it.

I just don't understand why it's a dig at Iowa? He isn't part of ISU. He is the commissioner of the B12.

Why is it aimed at Iowa? Can someone explain that?

What Hawk fans are upset about it? I just see a lot of Hawk fans making fun of it.

Probably every Hawk fan that drives past the billboard, every time they drive past, because there is only one team in this state, and it is the Hawks.

"Bottom line is ISU CLOWNS are a joke i cant wait to start another streak of 20 something touchdownless quarters against us god i hate the clowns with a burning passion. I thought about getting a ladder climbing up that sum'***** and spray paint a big **** going into bad decisions bob's mouth"

Sounds pretty upset to me.

So one posts equals that conclusion. Got it.

I dont think it is really. I think its a compliment to a new big 12 leader from ISU. I fail to see how it reflects on Iowa at all. Who knows.

Alright, I can get that. But why the location, then? To just get ISU some more exposure?

No...it sucks and is laid out very poorly. Terrible city.

How is it laid out poorly? I would argue the layout of Ames is much worse then that of Iowa City. At least their downtown/campustown area is one large vibrant area. ISU's layout is much better then the University of Iowa's, but Ames doesn't hold a candle to Iowa City.

Maybe. I guess if he was really trying to make a dig at Iowa, he wouldnt be afraid to go balls out for it like he has in the past. I dunno really.

That's just one on the first page dude. You honestly want me to quote every single one?

Just provide links to the posting history of imported_cankle23 and hawkdrummer1 and that should about do it.

Here's a shocking idea, it's a well traveled highway. Maybe he should have placed it in South Western Iowa where all 14 people within a 10 mile radius could have checked it out.

The best part about this billboard is it is getting a reaction. I get a good laugh at everyone claiming that this just screams little brother and insecure. Sounds like they are desperately trying to convince themselves this is true.

It's a Cyclone State!

It's being said because it's true. Just like having ISU license plates that say something about the hawks.

I'm 100% in favor of ISU billboards in eastern Iowa. Just not stupid ones like this. Why are we celebrating Bowlsby? I'm happy he's our commish but not billboard erection happy.

Go ahead and call me "butthurt" about it, but this seems like a waste of money. Why would you put a billboard of the new conference commissioner, who was not well-liked at U of I in his time there, saying "welcome back", when he will likely not step foot in the state of Iowa while he has this job? Doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to put billboards in 3 of the 5 largest metropolitan areas in Iowa. Must be just to spite the U of I. And you say we are obsessed!

They put it in the 2nd, 4th and 5th largest metro areas in Iowa. If they are not going in the 3 largest metro areas, then its not solely because of exposure. ISU chose its locations to poke a little fun at its other state institutions, and there is really no other explanation.

Did I not....mention....exposure?

When did I say they did it to spite U of I? Actually, I said that it WASN'T a dig at Iowa. But read the part you want to, I suppose.

I was asking why there. Hell I don't even know the highway very well.
