This man is a legend. I had the same injury as him when I was in high school, and how he was able to play through that is just amazing.

Made me pretty teary eyed. I'll miss seeing Jake absolutely destroy offensive lines, wide receivers, Tight ends and running backs, but he'll still be there. I think all the players will be that much more motivated on saturday. I wish I could go to the spirit walk saturday morning and just give Jake a big hug

Wow, that was tough to watch.

The positive though is it makes you realize that one of the main reasons we are Cyclone fans are the quality of the kids we have representing Iowa State. Just a great kid. The Fred Hoiberg of football.

As a Cyclone I thank God for Jake Knott. He is everything you would want to represent your university as a player and more importantly as a person. His selfless attitude and positive outlook are an example to all of us. Thanks Jake, you will be missed for the rest of the season and beyond.

I don't have a son, but I hope to have one someday, and I pray that whatever God put in Jake Knott, he puts it in my son too.

Thank you Jake for being a part of Cyclone Nation and bringing some good times to my Saturdays...Good Luck and God Bless! #cyclONEnation

So he's rumored to have had torn ligaments and a separated shoulder? And he played basically every snap of the Baylor game without so much as an Advil to ease the pain? WOW.

Its not so much a factor that he is "gone", but I know in my case the hard part is seeing how hard it is for him, and feeling for him. Its easy to see how much Iowa State means to him and he has been a huge part of this team for his entire time here. He puts everything on the line every time he steps on the field in order to benefit the team and he proved that last weekend by playing without a single pain killer 2 days before having surgery. Hes a good player, and I hate to see his college career end this way, but a guy like Jake doesn't come along often and that is what makes it so sad for me.

Losing sleep and crying? Maybe. But I'm a grown man and I got a little misty watching that press conference.

Thanks Jake for being a great leader, Person, and Football Player for ISU!. Thanks for all the memories you gave Cyclonenation the last four years (the interception to end the game against Iowa this year, the win against Okie state last year and many many more). It was truly a joy to watch you and AJ out there being one of the best linebacking duo's in the Nation.

God Bless Jake and thanks for being a CYCLONE!

I needed a box of Kleenex after watching that.

What "a"box?
Try a whole box?
How about instead of a stadium Eastside ....Westside...."Cyclone .......... Power" cheer, we do a
stadium Eastside ... Westside ....."Jake...... Knott" cheer.
Just gotta love that young man.
Thanks Jake for going "All Out" for ISU, hats off to you and AJ Klein for re-building the ISU program.

Go Cyclones!
