He would still be employed if he was in Ames. There is something to be said about stability.

Too bad he had to "win" a national title with the best players money could buy. Regardless of how he did that, it's still fairly impressive to be two years removed from the national championship and get your ***** canned for having one of the worst seasons in recent school history.

I don't understand the hate here. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is as fake as they come but quite honestly, he helped us so much when he went to Auburn. He wasn't going to work here and he was just about to get an extension meaning he'd have still been here or we'd have fired him and been paying him a huge buyout. Instead, we got to get a great coach and Auburn paid us like 750,000 or something like that. I could care less how he left, just happy it worked out that he did.

I'm thinking the Hawks ought to give him a try as offensive coordinator.:twitcy: Or maybe Dan McCarney will hire him as his water boy. And even though he thought his job here sucked, it was at least a job. I guess he's got enough money to spend all his days hanging out with his wife now.

He had the ISU fanbase behind him even after a 5-19 start....willing to give him time and support. Yet, he made his bed and now he must lay in it.

I think the bulk of it is the way he disrespected the players when he left after a curt "Yo, I'm out" - and the rumors that he tried to take his best players with him.

I guess Satan won.

:twitcy:Despite Jonna's rantings, my husband is convinced that Chiz not only bought Scam Newton, but made a deal with Satan for the National Championship and didn't read the fine print.

It doesn't help him that Iowa State is a program built on loyalty. Our fans are loyal, and we love players and coaches that are, too. We were willing to give him his first head coaching job, and he gave us a big middle finger.

I completely understand the hate. It's like a marriage where Chiz is the hubby and blames all of the problems in the marriage on his wife, Iowa State. When he finds himself a richer, younger woman, not only does he dump his first wife, but tells her she sucks and he never wanted to be with her, and does so in about 30 seconds as an afterthought. She knows she's better off without him, but is perfectly entitled to despise him forever and hope the new wife dumps his sorry ***.
