Execution. Execution. Execution.
Hard to keep drives alive when the QB cannot hit a 3 yard hot route.

Our inability to lengthen the field is killing our other plays. SJ cannot throw deep very well.Acutally we have been able to run except the 2 games JW was out. We abandon the run for no reason all year. We have no big play ability therefore we need to grind out drives and keep the other teams offense off the field ala K-state. Look at the TOP when we win v when we lose. Look at the rushing/passing yards. 60 yards of total offense in the 2nd half today and it was not from throwing the ball. So what are you watching?
The OL is fine. We continually throw the ball when we are clearly more of a running team. We ran 3 plays in a row on the ground and picked up about 18 yards. Then threw that deep ball for no reason on a 2nd and 4. Where is the logic?
The only issue I have with firing him is then we bring i someone new and the players have to learn a whole new system. I'm terrible when it comes to firing coaches but there is something to be said for having consistency. I just don't want to get into a situation where whenever our offense doesn't work we fire the coordinatorMessingham must go and a new offensive scheme must be put in place. Other offensive position coaches must be evaluated. If changes are not made, Rhoads (though ultimately a better coach) will go the way of Macarney.
I really hope that PR understands this.
Of course....didn't have playmakers like Ennis Haywood, JJ Moses, and solid offensive line in front of him and a solid defense on the other side....Sage did more with less so I could see him

He got paid for a long time as well in the NFL, and his physical skill set certainly doesn't explain that as much as it would Seneca.Of course....didn't have playmakers like Ennis Haywood, JJ Moses, and solid offensive line in front of him and a solid defense on the other side....

People want to continue to blame the oline. Those that do know little about blocking schemes. The offensive line continues to block great but teams continue to blitz. It's up to the backs to pick up the blitz but our offensive coordinator does not adjust the schemes to account for the blitzes. We either go with no back or a back that runs out of the backfield. If I were KU an WV I would blitz all day.The OL is fine. We continually throw the ball when we are clearly more of a running team. We ran 3 plays in a row on the ground and picked up about 18 yards. So it's up to 5 lineman to block 8-9 defenders?Agree the o-line is not fine, when teams have pressured us this year they've been exposed for the most part.

To me I guess it felt like sage did more with less, I may be wrong on that. Seneca while lacking size, had a shotgun arm and of course was extremely elusive.Physically, Sage is a lot closer to an average NFL QB than Seneca.
I know I exaggerated but on a countless plays Texas brought all 3 linebackers.Nobody is bringing 8-9 defenders against our QB. We've seen many times this year that our line struggled to stop 3.

If they're bringing 8-9, I say toss it to the wr who is not being covered. So it's up to 5 lineman to block 8-9 defenders?
Agree. We did very little to adjust to Texas bringing extra guys. In fact, we often did exactly the opposite of what it seemed we needed to do. No reason not the blitz the hell out of us every play.People want to continue to blame the oline. Those that do know little about blocking schemes.
