I really hope coach PR will make some changes.

The offence have been down the last 10 years. 5 OCs and schemes later the offense still doesnt work well. 10 years ago fans wanted Looney and his pro style plan fired, then Mr Wallace showed up on campus and now fans would take him back in a sec. 8 years ago fans when Fine and his pro style was fired the fans wanted the spread. Barry Cotton was hired, brought the spread to ISU and well it didnt work well, fans wanted more of a spread. Mac was let go and Mcfarland was hired, Mcfarlands system was set up to be high paced throw the ball all over. That didnt work and fans wanted him fired. He was let go fans were raving when Herman was hired they guys style was crazy kick *** did every and anything, yet fans cheered as he left to OSU.
I think you are mis-remembering the last few years' offense..

We don't need better coaching. We need better production and I think the our key shortcoming compared with the rest of the league is talent.

Our staff is maximizing our current talent base.

We need a lot better talent to get "better production".

We got beat by a better team. It's pretty simple. Yesterday was a snapshot of where we stand as a program. Firing everyone isn't going to solve the underlying fact - Rhoads is building something and it's not a simple process. We lose a game to one of the best programs in the country and people freak. Even the perfect play calling against Texas doesn't mean we win that game. Texas has 3 quarterbacks that would start at ISU. SO what - Jantz sucks? C'mon. Rhoads can't recruit? C'mon. Look at Bundrage and George yesterday. We're on the right path. The staff needs to keep doing what they are doing and we'll get better. We still have a chance to go 7-5. A pretty good chance. We're not pushovers. AND we're certainly not the Texas Longhorns. Some people need to realize that.

I'd hope we're not this much worse offensively than Kansas, etc. Apparently we're slightly above New Mexico.

The problem with this offense, is you need an elite NFL type QB to make it work. You can't hide your QB with this system. I think next year, if we don't have one of those guys. I say we committ to Jared Barnett, and committ to the run. I'd like us to look at what Kansas State is doing with Collin Klien, and run a more ball control offense, and keep our defense off the field. We have to quit asking our kids to do things they can't do. Just think how good our defense could of been this year, if they were not on the field all game long??

I'm really starting to think the OL is a big component of our issues. Missing KO a lot. KO plus Jeff Woody was always good for 3-4 yards at least.

I agree that this offense does not mitigate poor QB play, but it by no means demands an elite NFL QB to make it work. It needs a good college QB to make it work. NFL arm strength and/or size is not required. The position does not even need to be a great athlete. Accuracy, quick reads, and the ability to make quality throws under pressure would do wonders.

Last year agaisnt UT, we averaged 3.4 ypc on the ground, this year 4.6 ypc. That includes sack yardage.
If the QB and WR positions played at the level of the OL, we would improve on offense.

You could not be more wrong here. We run the Spread Option with Rich Rod's zone read. Every offense needs an accurate passer but this offense needs a mobile QB who can burn a defense running and passing.

So many poster board coaches.... My advice is that you guys should email Rhaods and let him know your opinions...

Idiots, I tell ya.
All you have to do is look at the stats and see the regression. That does not take too much knowledge to realize the state of the team.

YOu are aware we are losing to some of the best teams in the coungtry right? Iowa, Tulsa and Western Illinois are not walking into Jack Trice this time of year.

As would we have if the OL had been pass blocking as well as they were run blocking. Or maybe it was just that Texas is pathetic against the run...

I guess we should just roll over for half our schedule every year.

The fact is our offense scored fewer points than every other offense on Texas's schedule outside of New Mexico. From John Walter's broadcast, he says that should be a simple pass play right? Answer was yes. Guess he forgot fundamental aspects of the game don't work against top teams.

Or maybe Jantz compromises acceptable play from the OL?
Would Jantz be better if the OL dominated every game? Of course, but this fact does not mean the OL is the primary culprit for why our passing game (and thus offense) is bad. A QB that requires zero pressure to not be bad, is bad.

Like he said, the regression is due to playing better teams. It is a fact that UT is better than WILL, Tulsa, and Iowa.
In a way, I do not see much regression, unless 1 game is enough for a regression. Sadly, OU was not much different than our mean.
