This is just my opinion, but when I go to womens basketball games or watch on tv, i always get an uncomfortable feeling when fennely yells at his players. Look at CJL, she never yells and yet they get to the elite 8; even look at Hoiberg, he hardly yells at his players(except the times when he yells at Luscious for trying to look cool). And i hardly see CPR yell at his players, he just goes crazy at the refs. I just don't believe you have yell like that at your players to get the most out of them. This won't be popular, but I think Fen. should consider retiring
This miss especially hurts we were short at guard, this is where we could least afford to have someone leave.
Just saying, He needs to tone it down a little. I think he is a good coach, but I am not the only one.
People transfer for all kinds of reasons. Maybe BF is one in this case, maybe not. Doesn't do much good to speculate, or to pretend we know things that we don't.
I know of one situation where a girl transferred away from the ISU program because it is hard to deal with everything at this level, and family problems at home at the same time. Just wish them well and hope they find happiness wherever they land.

I don't disagree at all, but I don't necessarily see this as the issue this time.
There are other ways to get your players to play to their potential for you. Sorry this is not one of them sometimes.
First off, Emiah was go to her senior year in high school and the best player on the court the first three years. She deferred to teammates a lot the first two years, split the duties with another D-I talent her junior year. However that teammate was lost to a knee injury their senior year, and she had to do it all as her teammates were young, inexperienced, and quit frankly poorly coached. I watched that same group in a game last week under a new coach and they have already improved immensely.
Emiah was put into the starting lineup at Iowa when Moody was tardy for something. She took the brunt for that 14-0 hole they got into. When they went to a timeout, BF did look as hot as he did at times last year, and it was directed at her. Moody came in, and Emiah was done for the night playing 7 minutes. After the game BF states that it was a mistake to not start Moody. Yeah, it probably was a mistake to throw a freshman like that into that high-pressur rivalry game, plus their first game in a hostile environment. Not exactly a confidence builder for her. Against Fairfield, she got 12 minutes, and had three turnovers, even though she also had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Not a good sign.
I have a feeling her confidence was totally shattered, which could also let the homesickness creep in. My guess is she will end up at somewhere like UMKC, where she will be all-conference before she's done. In fact, I hope it is UMKC cause I'll still get to watch her.

I'll start off by simply saying I disagree. I can't believe how many rush to judge, rush to make opinions, rush to talk bad, etc. Like everyone else, I have no idea why Emiah chose to leave Iowa State. It's unfortunate, and I honestly hope she continues on to somewhere she loves. She seems to be a good kid who loves the game, and it'd be great to see someone like that succeed, even if it isn't at ISU.
As for your comment about kids aren't how they used to be (not saying this is the cause or that I agree, but talking about it in general), does that mean that no one can show these kids that, hey, some things aren't easy? Some people expect you to perform at your best. Just because someone made it to a certain point in life without having someone push them or tell them they can't have everything they want in life or they aren't as good as they think they are, etc., doesn't mean everyone else they meet in life have to just let it slip by.
First off till a reason comes out, why speculate. Saying coach is too rough on them and need to tone it down is silly. Many past players say the complete opposite.
Next it's never good when a father is on a schools fan site or twitter actively voicing his opinion. It can only get ugly. Shows an overbearing father, that thinks he's a coach and knows more then a college coach.
We have had many parents on here in the past and just cringe when they start voicing things.
Capello's dad did it, saying there was never a qb competition last year and that was the reason for leaving.
Greg Garmons dad took to twitter about not playing much at Iowa this year.

Standish leaving Texas A&M is probably closer to this situation, although she quit basketball entirely.
If you don't see CPR get after a player then you aren't watching. I hear complaints from fans asking why CFH doesn't do it more. So which is right?
Coach has far more players who would back him and his style as compared to the 4-5 that wouldn't. As others have posted, his style is no secret and he has toned it down. Your comment for him to retire is just so far off base as to even warrant a response. Wow.
All this harping blaming coach Fen when there isn't a single person, not one, who has a clue why this happened reminds me of a bunch of old harpies sitting on the bus bench gossiping.
