Virginia still above the Iowa St. apparently(barely). 7 bad losses.

UVa making huge hay out the big wins — Duke, Wisconsin, UNC, NC State. It's a better record at the top compared to ISU ... but man, the sub-100 is baaad and SOS is sub-100.

I have a hunch Virginia will get in (I have them in now), but that's the type of team that provokes huge arguments if another team with "not much good, nothing bad" is left out.

I thought the Iowa to NCAA talks were over. Iowa isn't sniffing the dance. Even Hawk fans realize this....ffs
They are not dead men walking yet. They do not have to win their tourney, just win the next four games including the tourney and they will be bubble material.

The committee values good wins, which they have. Though they have 7 losses to teams outside the RPI 100. For comparison, ISU has 2 and Iowa has 3. Virginia also has a higher RPI then ISU by 10 spots now. Both teams have terrible road records.

Don't understand Virginia over ISU in Lunardi's mind. Or for most people. It is what it is.

Just win their next 4...as if that's actually a possibility...

Virginia has the most hilarious/ ridiculous At Large profile

Quality Wins: Wisconsin, Tennessee, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke, Maryland
Terrible Losses: George Mason, Delaware, Old Dominion, Wake Forest, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Boston College

Do those good wins balance out these horrendous losses? I have no idea.

BPI 40, SOS 101, RPI 64

They probably won't play Michigan. My guess is they'll beat Illinois and Nebraska at home (not outrageous to think) en route to a 7 seed in the Big Ten tourney. First round they beat Northwestern and odds are MSU would be the 2 seed via tie breakers who they outplayed and should have beat earlier this year. While not exactly probable those 4 wins would put them squarely back in the discussion.

You do realize this is the team that "just had to win 4 out of their last 5, losing to Indiana" and their first step was a loss to Nebraska. Then they "just had to beat Indiana to erase that Nebraska loss". Now they "just have to beat Illinois at home (won't happen), then rattle off 3 straight wins, to get back on the bubble." So that's assuming they're going to win their first game in the tourney (which in front of probably 300 Iowa fans isn't going to be guaranteed) and then beat a top 10 team? Maybe I missed something or when did Iowa turn into a team that wasn't average? Let's stick to talking about actually bubble teams in this thread.

The point is that its very plausible for them to win their next 4, no matter how much your blind hatred tells you otherwise. I'm not saying it will happen or even that its likely, but they are in the discussion at the very least.

Despite all of this, Iowa's RPI is in the upper 80's - low 90's right now. They aren't in the discussion.

If you think Iowa is in the discussion to make the tourney then so is West Virginia. All they have to do is win 4 games in KC. Let's start talking about them too. You are delusional

Hell, let's talk about TCU. They have a better win on their résumé then both Iowa and Iowa State. Just win 4 games in a row in KC and they are in!

The beautiful thing about college basketball is that everyone thinks they have a chance to win it all on the last day of the regular season. Thinking and doing are two different things.
