Great win ISU. I've always enjoyed our games against your teams, back in the Hoiberg (as player) days. I remember Bryant Reeves against J. Michalik, or however you spelled it too. You guys out hustled us and got every loose ball tonight, and have some lights out shooters. I hope you make a nice run in the big dance, always pull for the Clones even after what you did to us in football two years ago. Keep it rolling, and go Pokes!!

ISU Men's Basketball Open Video vs Iowa - YouTube

I went back and watched this video... First off, it's comical seeing the names on the jerseys and how most of them didn't work out.

But what sticks out is the boy stopping at the picture of Fred and pointing at it. It was like it was an omen or something that he would come back. Like the kid knew we needed him back. Just an odd thought about that old intro.

This is why we respect Oklahoma State fans. All class, all the time.

Enjoy watching your team. Those were two amazing games this year.
I always respect a team that wins at Kansas. We know full well what that takes.

Quality first post, and go pokes the rest of the year unless we somehow meet you in the big 12 finals.

McDermott is like the DUFF in a group of girls and the hot ones trying to set her up on a date describe her as "a nice person". No thanks.

Back at ya, but what's with having to name your wrestling coach to register? You'd think as an OSU fan I'd be able to rattle that off, but I must admit I had to Google it. Trying to keep Texas fans off your site?

I remember that guy, but I was talking about that big Croatian you guys had, don't tell me you forgot about him. He was Croat before Croat was cool.

I don't know why people think he was such a nice guy. He must not have been that great or that many players wouldn't have left. The only reason he is doing anything at Creighton is because of his son.

Anyone associated with ISU has said he is a great guy. He was a terrible fit at a major D1 because he never had to deal with the egos of athletes at that level. Fred had to deal with over inflated egos like Eddy Curry in the NBA. He knows how to deal with it. Mac only had to deal with lunch pail mid major caliber players with no pro aspirations until he got to ISU. He was a terrible fit, and never should have been offered the job. It will be interesting to see if he can hang if Creighton ends up in the new Catholic 7 big east.

Hold on, let me check something...

...yep, three years later and McDermott still doesn't care what we think about him. He's happy at Creighton now. We're happy he's at Creighton now. We got Fred out of the deal. End of story.

That's kind of how I feel about it, but it does make you have a better appreciation for where we are now knowing where we recently were.

I'm just happy its finally all over and in the McPast.

I'll be the first to say it. Eff Mcdudd. What could have fred done with teams that he had.

I'll be number 2. His coaching ego is what got the best of him here. He thought he could come in and run his team and run the game just like he did at UNI, when that didn't work out, he stuck with it. I will give him credit where credit is due though, Just like Chizik, without him, we wouldn't be right where we are now and the result now is where I like it.

You knwo why I think Hoiberg is good at that----it's because he doesn't think that those players have over-inflated egos.

The real thing Fred's done, even bigger than beating mcdermott's win total, is he's brought hilton magic back. Hilton has once again become a place we can beat anyone on any given night, and we expect to do so. I mean, hell, we've had 2 conference losses in hilton the last 2 years and only 3 losses total. Of those 2 conference losses one we were within 3 with <30seconds left on the clock, and the other has a giant asterisk placed upon it and everybody but kansas fans know we won that game without the refs blatantly giving it to KU. We very easily could be riding a 2 year strong home win streak right now.

I'm jealous of Greg McDermott. I've never seen someone get more mileage out of the "he's a nice guy" card.

Too bad this doesn't translate to getting chicks or winning in power conferences, unless you're cfh
