I think our women could beat them at Hilton, especially since they might be more athletic. ISU has lost one game in the past season and a half at home and it was to KU on a screw job. Stop giving the little brother out East too much credit...no way we lose to them at home

USA Today has Iowa at 16 in its early Top 25 for next year. Get ready for the Iowa love fest and hype to begin in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

"....the well-coached Hawkeyes have a chance to finish as high as third"

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]1. Apparently the writer didn't watch Drew take apart Fran.

2. And Wichy St ranked #11; losing Hall and Armstead will hurt big time

3. KU will move from #20 to Top 10 in no time and stay there. And McLemore will be gone this year.

Edit: after looking at the link. well i was close half the conference in the top 25 or honorable mention.

only 3 from big 12

Will be nice to beat Michigan and Iowa both, even better if they are highly rated. Maybe a Lafester-like performance out of Niang.

I can see iowa doing well in the big 10. How many teams in the big 10 have tall & athletic bigs like Baylor does?

I hate this crap. How can these bozos knock a team like Kansas for losing a bunch of seniors, while continually ranking Kentucky as the top team when they're replacing a bunch of people, too?

Preseason rankings are just dumb to begin with, but especially when you're basing the ranking on the quality of recruits that haven't played a second of college ball yet. I think they should wait until late December to issue their first ranking, and base it on how the teams have actually played.

There's a reason why it's called the way too early. All people are talking about is how good the B1G is. If all the people go pro like they say it won't be nearly as hyped next year. That would be the only possible way Iowa would get votes if off their possible top half of the B1G preseason expectations. NIT winners (and the Hoks didn't even win)

2012 winner Stanford received all of 2 votes for the next season.
2011 winner Wichita State received zero votes for the next season.
2010 winner Dayton received zero votes for the next season.
2009 winner Penn State received zero votes for the next season.
2008 winner Ohio State received 64 votes (#32) for the next season.
2007 winner West Virginia received 20 votes (#36) for the next season.
2006 winner South Carolina received zero votes for the next season.
2005 winner South Carolina received zero votes for the next season.
2004 winner Michigan received 74 votes (#27) for the next season.
2003 winner St. John's received zero votes for the next season.
2002 winner Memphis received all of 2 votes for the next season.

how can you say we are a bad match up for them? They had a young team and we had a bunch of seniors. Despite that, they handled us pretty well in Iowa City. We are going to play them early with brand new guards, it is going to be very tough. If we played them later in the year, I like our chances better but going up against an experienced team in early December I don't like our chances. Also keep in mind that Iowa gets extra game and practices with an already experienced team as they are going to Europe.

OMG we're turning into Halkeye fans! This sounds like Halkeye football every year we beat them!

Iowa's going to get votes for the preseason top 25 poll, there's a pretty decent chance they will even be ranked. Calm down, take some deep breaths, and accept it.

Oh, I can calm down and accept it.

You will allow to keep my thoughts that they are a complete fraud and the worst 25 win team in the history of the sport?

You might rank a team with returning players when you know the returning players are good. When you know the guys returning range from below average to average...

Iowa state played arguably their worst game of the year yet still lead at half and were within two possessions with 3 min left. There bigs can't guard the three point line. Monte arguably could be better than whoever Iowa starts at point. Ill take Niang and ejim over whoever Iowas 4-5. I'm just making a prediction not a guarantee that we will beat Iowa. It's just a gut feeling nothing more than that.

Iowa will not be a bad team next year. Back-to-back-to-back NIT appearances will be impressive.

Because Kentucky is returning their 2nd and 4th leading scorers and an incredibly athletic 7 footer. Plus their recruiting class consists of:
#1 PF
#1 PG
#3 SF
#1 SG
#1 C
#9 PF

And they have the possibility of adding Wiggins, who is probably the biggest recruit of the last 5 years (at least).
