Re: Rashad Vaughn

His Twitter handle is @ShowtimeMr... :spinny:

I believe Rashad's last two visits to Hilton were Kansas 2 years ago and Baylor last year... He got his "show" for both. He knows how to pick his spots.
So let's hope he gets to witness his third win at Hilton. Either way Ames will be rocking and in the end that is what CFH, wants to remind him of the Hilton Magic.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I really think that if he comes here on November 17th that it shows how serious he is about us and that he's ours to lose. It looks like Vaughn has Hoiberg ahead of Calipari, Williams, Pitino (no clue why a 5-star recruit would want to play for a team in rebuilding mode), and anyone else on a personal level and that seems to play pretty big to him. Fred probably knows it, knowing that's his key to getting him and isn't going to slow down. A few months ago I thought we were F'ed in the A but now I'm feeling better and better about the kid. ISU is no joke anymore and we will continue to bring in talent like Thomas and Morris and maybe even snag a Vaughn or a Diallo in there.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

This may be an impossible scenario but hear me out... *takes a sip of ISU Kool-Aid* I understand its a LOOOONG shot but discussions like this are what message boards are for, right?

On Vaughn's visit to UNC he was really close to committing (supposedly) but in the end it did not happen. Him almost committing to UNC shows his plan to commit in the late signing period next spring isn't a 100% sure thing. So what if he gets to Ames and is absolutely blown out of the water by the ISU/Michigan game? It will be his third visit to Ames and he has been promoting his interest in ISU as of late. On a scale from 1-10, if his visit is perfect, what are the chances he could commit to ISU on November 17th? I think its a 6. If he is sold on ISU after his 3rd visit, why wait until next spring to decide?

Because he enjoys the attention the recruiting process is getting him? Because he likes being a tease?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The early signing period is Nov 13-Nov 21. A November 17 official visit pretty much means he's signing with us before he leaves campus that day. He's already a silent commit.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

But he has said, if I'm not mistaken, that ISU won't get an official. What am I missing?

I get caught up in this stuff too, but we take these tweets and posts way too literal.

I personally believe that if we are in fact in serious contention, we'll get an official out of Vaughn. The coaches aren't stupid. They are going to put the full court press on him to visit officially because it's another huge opportunity to spend a lot of time with him on our campus. Plus it eliminates one more official to a blue blood, where he could be wowed into a commitment that he wasn't even expecting.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Alright, guys. I had to ask...

Darren Wolfson@DarrenWolfson
Heard last night that Iowa State feels good about getting Macura for an official Sept. 14 weekend and Vaughn Nov. 17 weekend. #cyclones

Randy Deiber @RandyDeiber
@DarrenWolfson would Vaughn's visit to ISU on November 17th be an official or unofficial visit?

Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson
@RandyDeiber If it happens, an official. ISU likes its chances. ... Vaughn told me last week that an official to ISU wasn't likely.

For anyone interested......today (the 16th) is RV's birthday. I believe he turns all of 17 today....amazing. For those on Twitter.....wouldn't hurt to send him a nice tweet.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If CFH can get Vaughn on campus right in the middle of the early signing period, even if he doesn't sign, you've got to think the other coaches from UK, KU, etc would be very interested/worried.

I think most people (people on here at least) agree that Vaughn probably isn't signing anywhere until May 2014, but if he's on your campus during a signing period...you never know what could happen.

No matter what happens, this is very exciting to watch unfold!
