So, like I posted above I'm going to KC in October for the Jamaica game. Initially I was thinking, with our spot clinched, JK might pull back on the reins a bit roster wise to play it safe and prevent injuries. Which would suck, but I'm excited either way. Then I was talking with a friend and he doesn't think that will be the case because if we improve our stock then it should improve our draw. That we would be separated from other better teams. What do you guys think? I think it makes sense, but is that what they will do? I'm hoping so. Would love to see all of our "A" players in person. Plus, it just popped in my head that Brazil is almost a year away so maybe it doesn't matter prevention wise. And besides all of that... WE ARE GOING TO BRAZIL!

I don't know that improving our FIFA ranking will help us we aren't going to be in the top 7 to get in the first draw. That would really be the only way to help out. However, I think you will see the majority of the players in KC because there just isn't that many games between then and the world cup, it will be 8 months away, and JK will have 2 or maybe 3 more international dates to get the guys together to find who he wants to take to Brazil.

That said not sure everyone will be there, but I would guess it wouldn't be much less than what we saw on the pitch last night.

Interesting look at which continents get how many qualifying spots. I take it Europe gets so many because the soccer history there is rich?

Based on COMEBOL getting half of their teams in (4 or 5 out of 9 + Brazil), I would say it is based on the quality of play more than the total number of countries. Though number of countries does help a region like UEFA in total number of participants.

I did some math on percentage of teams that qualify, using half a team for regions with a play-in (OFC, COMEBOL, CONCACAF, AFC), and not including Brazil.

COMEBOL - 50% (4.5/9)UEFA - 25% (13/53)
AFC - 10% (4.5/43)
CONCACAF - 10% (3.5/35)
CAF - 10% (5/52)
OFC - 5% (0.5/11)

(15% of nations qualify (31/203))

Attempting to catch the corner before it can be redirected. Goalies do it all the time. The problem is he was a dumb*** and didn't catch the ball before it was redirected.
He just misjudged the flight of the ball so comically bad.

lets be honest, European countries have the best teams. You could get rid of 1 spot from CONCACAF and 1-2 from Asia and put an extra team from South American and the other spot as a Europe team and it would be a stronger tournament. There's a decent chance England and/or France don't make it to Brazil. Put them in instead of Iran or South Korea and it's stronger. That's why it's called the "world cup" i guess.

In B4 someone says i'm trolling.
