I'd say it wasn't just the fans who seemed to have a general malaise in Friday's game but also the players, at least during the first half. However, once the second half rolled around, we finally seemed to kick things in gear and play more in sync.

Wow, was that ever true. Jozy was barely even going through the motions. Being in the stands on the right side for that half made it painfully obvious. And, since he wasn't really pressing, he was more in a position to pass/cross and he made some terrible ones. I'm glad the team turned it up in the second and that Jozy was able to extend his goal streak to 6. That was pretty awesome to see.

If Mexico makes it I won't be upset, I also don't have that hatred of them. I kind of hope they don't make it though, because that would mean Panama might get to go and it would be their first time at the world cup.

A quick question for you guys. Are you pulling for a Mexico choke job that keeps them out of the WC? I know they are our main rival & typically you never cheer for your rival in any way. Honestly, I'm just kind of ambivalent about Mexico's situation. I'm still fairly new in my USMNT fandom, so I don't have a strong emotional reaction to some of the historical bad blood that developed between the US and Mexico. There just hasn't been much in this qualifying cycle to really get US fans worked up in my opinion.

I also live in Phoenix and have a few good friends that are huge El Tri fans. And they are solid, decent fans. Huge supporters of Mexico, but not obnoxiously so. Of course there's some friendly back and forth with them about Dos a Cero & Mexico not being able to score a goal in Azteca earlier in the Hex, but if Mexico were to fail to qualify I honestly don't think I'd have the heart to rub their faces in it. And this isn't even addressing whether a Mexico fail is a good or bad thing for CONCACAF as a region. Obviously, this is just me, but I'm curious about what others feel.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you as I'm SUPER new to USMNT and even soccer for that manner (I just randomly watched some WC and fell in love with it), so I really have no idea of the Mexico/American history (soccer wise) and the hatred that has seemed to have built into a rivalry. Therefore, with that said, I'm kind of indifferent when it comes to Mexico making the WC or not. Maybe over time I'll develop that hatred, but as of right now, all focus on that front is pretty much leveled #1 at the Hawks, #2 at the Huskers, and #3 at the Packers. I guess #4+ is always up for grabs though.

Does anyone happen to know where I can order a US Home jersey like the following one with Altidore #17 on it at a reasonable price?

Overall, I've found it very hard to find USMNT jerseys anywhere and especially with names and numbers on them (especially outside of Donovan jerseys). Is there a reason for that?

I'd try Sports Page, heard they have authentic US jerseys. Probably expensive though.

Wow, didn't realize Eurosport isn't selling the Waldo jersey anymore. They were the last I checked. Nike must be phasing them out for the upcoming WC kits. US Soccer doesn't even have them nor does World Soccer Shop.

I hope they aren't phasing them out as these are definitely my favorites. Yeah, they are a little Waldoish and crazy, but for fans to wear in the crowd, that is exactly what we are looking for.

Yea, really liked the hoops. I need to get one of the centennial shirts. Those are sick. Love that crest.
