The roster is out for the final pair of qualifiers. It seems pretty standard when you consider Dempsey and Bradley are unavailable due to injury. I know JAB had a knock a while back as well, but I'm not sure that's the reason he's not in this camp. Matches on Friday in KC against Jamaica and next Tuesday in Panama. Anybody going to KC?

U.S. ROSTER BY POSITION – DETAILED ROSTER

GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

DEFENDERS (6): DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City) Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy)

MIDFIELDERS (6): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Eddie Johnson (Seattle Sounders FC)

This isn't Hex related, but I found it mildly amusing and disappointing at the same time. David Villa is pulling out of Spain's latest camp with an injury. So Spain is calling in Michu who has never been capped. Seriously? Michu scored 18 goals in the PL last year and he's never been capped. Not even in some crappy, meaningless friendly. **** Spain.

The good news is these games are, for all intents and purposes meaningless for us outside of filling out the rest of the roster. Even better is we're probably still favored to win big without Dempsey and Bradley.

USA beats Jamaica 2-0, which I believe clinches 1st place in CONCACAF.

Mexico has to win or else they will be in the playoff vs. New Zealand at best. Tie in that game gives Honduras the 3rd auto spot in Concacaf.

Oh, Mexico. They just gave up an equalizer to Panama. Another tie in Azteca will just drive that country crazy. And Chicharito hit a PK right at Penedo which he saved easily earlier.

.....and Mexico just went ahead on a crazy bicycle kick! Holy ****!

Pone of best goals I have seen in real time in long time! Brilliant goal. Garbage first touch and amazing recovery on that goal.

shagcarpetjesus, I'm waiting for the usual preview of tomorrow night's game against Panama.

I've been slacking, apologies. Does anybody else seem to notice a general malaise among US fans though since they've already qualified?

Anyway, for the Panama match JK released some guys back to their club teams. Donovan, Jones, Timmy Howard, and Besler have all returned to their day jobs. Guzan will be in goal in Panama which I have absolutley zero problem with given his stellar play with Aston Villa. Goodson and Wondo join the squad to provide some cover and Klinsmann has said that Clarence Goodson will replace Besler in his center back spot on Tuesday night.

I'd say it wasn't just the fans who seemed to have a general malaise in Friday's game but also the players, at least during the first half. However, once the second half rolled around, we finally seemed to kick things in gear and play more in sync.

I was there on Friday. My friend and I were getting a little worried we wouldn't even see a goal, but it all worked out:rolleyes: It was my first WCQ and my first USMNT match in general. It was amazing! I will definitely be going again. My seats weren't terrible... 10th row. Also, as you can see, I wasn't the only ISU fan there.

A quick question for you guys. Are you pulling for a Mexico choke job that keeps them out of the WC? I know they are our main rival & typically you never cheer for your rival in any way. Honestly, I'm just kind of ambivalent about Mexico's situation. I'm still fairly new in my USMNT fandom, so I don't have a strong emotional reaction to some of the historical bad blood that developed between the US and Mexico. There just hasn't been much in this qualifying cycle to really get US fans worked up in my opinion.

I also live in Phoenix and have a few good friends that are huge El Tri fans. And they are solid, decent fans. Huge supporters of Mexico, but not obnoxiously so. Of course there's some friendly back and forth with them about Dos a Cero & Mexico not being able to score a goal in Azteca earlier in the Hex, but if Mexico were to fail to qualify I honestly don't think I'd have the heart to rub their faces in it. And this isn't even addressing whether a Mexico fail is a good or bad thing for CONCACAF as a region. Obviously, this is just me, but I'm curious about what others feel.

I don't really care if they make it our not; there's only one team I cheer against and it's the Hawks.
