I started listening to games back in the 1950's. Vince DiFrancesca was the coach followed by Sunny Jim Myers and then Stapleton. Went to my first game in 1971, Johnny Majors. Come next fall if I can still walk(at my age you never know) I'll be at the Jack expecting to see some quality football from the Clones. I don't have many wait till next years left.

I suffered through Criner/Walden/McCarney so I'm a better fan than you...

I was at school during the Walden era when there were signs posted asking for students that met certain measurables to try out for the team. It crossed my mind...like an idiot.

Like anyone on any given fall Sunday, I headed out into the world for errands. Today I was taken back by how many isu shirts/hoodies/jackets I witnessed (not including my own). We're talking all walks of life here too. J Creek, Target off university and south side hy-vee. It was awesome, you would have thought that we won yesterday. Smiles on every single one of them...

I'm not exactly happy about how the season has progressed but you only started following the team when they were starting to improve. Your opinion matters if you stay Iowa State fans after this stinker of a season. Most of you probably won't buy tickets anyway next season because you were sooooo disappointed in this season.

Signed,

Anyone who has actually followed Iowa State since at least the McCarney era.

what a load of ********. Dan was able to get this team every bit as far as CPR, and didn't have the resources we do now.

Don't get me wrong, it was time for a change when Dan left, and I still don't want Rhoads gone, but don't act like we have seen some magical level of achievement in the past 4 years that only Paul could attain.

However, McCarney, did not have to face a round robin schedule every year in the BIG 12, like we are facing now!

I don't think that's what he was saying--he was just talking about longevity, and suffering through the rough few years before CPR was hired.

Bull **** Danny Mac **** the bed in 04 and 05. And he was given an easier path in both seasons. Danny Mac should have been canned after the 04 debacle. Rhoads has been dealing with different circumstances. Danny Mac and crew would be getting pasted week in and week out if he had to play a round robin with the current setup.

Well, betcha Dan would've liked to play the current K-State team (unranked, receiving no votes) this week, instead of the national powerhouse program he had to play, up through 2003...

Well... i'm sure Paul would have loved to play the Dan Mac era Baylor instead of this current version. What is your point?
