Re: Rashad Vaughn

The UNLV crystal balls were based off the Okonoboh commitment to UNLV.

That's what I think as well. Nobody has any real inside information, it's all just conjecture based on the most recent news in his recruitment. When he said he was taking an official here after saying before he wouldn't, people really took notice and realized we were a legit contended and maybe even the leader. We rattled off 10 or 15 picks in the crystal ball.

Then that guy commits to UNLV and the people who think that is a major factor change their pick to UNLV. If they didn't think it was a factor, they won't change their pick from ISU, so no new predictions for ISU came about unless a person was changing his pick from UNC or Minnesota.

Great to be leading, but unless we see about 10 ISU picks in a day, they don't amount to a whole lot.

I figured Okonoboh's committment stimulated some of the predictions. I just wouldn't be shocked of some of the voters gave another school a vote simply due to their mindset that "Its ISU... why would he go there?". All speculation and theory of course... just sucks that there has been so little actual information to go off of for a while. wish he had a shorter timeline set so we don't wait until spring to know one way or another. I cant blame the guy though, I'd take advantage of the opportunity as well if I were in his situation.

He's going to sign when on his official.

It's during the early signing period. Boom

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Is this theory valid? If Vaughn was going to UNLV he'd commit now....already there, would get the whole fanbase even more excited. If he was going somewhere else, he'd wait til spring so he doesn't have to be in a town with people who've turned on him?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I mean using their facility and stuff, didn't barnes do that?

Barnes was able to because his mother worked for ISU. I believe it would violate NCAA rules if she hadn't, because it would appear that we would be giving special treatment. But given that she worked there, ISU employees families have access to facilities

For all of us who look at the Crystal Ball predction, top-ten recruit Kevon Looney just commited to UCLA and 0 out of 34 who made a prediction for his crystal ball picked UCLA.

Their predictions were probably based on the fact that Alford is the headcoach... maybe Looney doesn't know that :)

I was happy to see that. If Looney picked Duke, that may have been a road block for Reid Travis, who is down to Duke, Stanford, minnesota. Stanford just landed another post yesterday, so he may have picked minnesota by default. I want the gophers to continue to suck, so as to aid our recruitment of any Minnesota preps into the future.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Ejim is injured. We will lose the Michigan game and therefore any chances at winning over Vaughn

If he picks us or not picks us based on the "result" of 1 big game he attends when we're short-handed, then recruiting efforts are blown way out of proportion.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

A lot of those predictions are stupid bc guys will just pick a school right after a visit or news regarding that school. There are some who are accurate and those are the guys that wait in some actual info.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If we land Cunningham and Mckay, I just don't see how RV doesn't choose us. However, if we don't land both, I could see him going to UNLV.

I think way to many people are putting too much of an emphasis on how we do this year will decide what RV does, simply because our talent next year, with Cunningham and Mckay, will be much better than it is this year.
