He had lots of offers out. CFH had lots of offers out. At one point CFH wanted Amardi....then he didn't. Why did CFH change his mind? Can Fran change his?

Most of the time when you argue just to argue you at least sound like you understand basketball, now you're just starting to sound like Breck.

Fran recruited Hogue for a long time and was his top target last September, if you follow recruiting you'd know that.

You might not think you need a player like Hogue and it's hard to say either way if you "need a player". Regardless, your head coach really wanted him.

Yeah you're right. After Fran changed his mind, Hogue went with his second option, ISU.

Because Deondre Kane became available.

Yes Franny can change his mind. Problem is that he didn't in this case. He wanted Hogue, and Hogue chose Iowa State.

Fran didn't change his mind. Hogue chose ISU > Iowa. Amardi is now at Oregon because we needed a scholarship to open up for Deandre Kane. Trying to talk yourself out of your state of disbelief with where ISU's bball program is headed on CF is not the answer. Denial, Depression, Anger, and Acceptance my friend.

You back yourself into these idiotic corners, and then you try to argue your way out with stupid ******* reasons. So what Fran offered Hogue? CFH offered many players as well. If CFH accepted Amardi's commitment, why did he change his mind?

Fran accepted Jok's (9/23) commitment before Hogue (9/30) committed? Fran has proven that he won't accept someone else's commitment when he has a player he wants more. Fran got the guy he wanted.

Either way, you have gotten me to go down another one of your stupid and irrelevant rabbit holes, so Kuddos to that. ISU has Hogue, and should be happy, Iowa simply doesn't need him this year.

What? I know where the ISU program is at, and it is in a very good place. I have said as much on here before, I'm not angry, depressed, or denying anything.

As posted before, Kane became available and is something that was needed for this team. It's not like it was a high school senior and he just changed his mind, a high impact transfer came across his table and he did what he had to do to get him. Kane could have went to a lot of places, CFH knew that.

CFH offers a lot of players, players he wants. Name one player out there that CFH offered that you don't think he wanted?

You just said you weren't impressed with Dustin Hogue last night but you aren't in denial. Lol

Well according to your logic CFH wants every player he DIDN'T get, more than he wants the players he got.....that is what you are saying about Fran.

I'm pretty sure Fred wants a lot of players he didn't get that he offered. Why offer a kid a scholarship if you don't want him to play for you? Stauskas came to mind at about 4:00pm yesterday.

Someone at HN posted this today. Delusional.

"What really sticks out to me in this battle of coaches is that you have Fran on one side doing things the right way, and then you have Fred on the other side doing everything the completely wrong way. The contrast is stark."

View attachment 23117 which 8 are you refferring too?

I pulled the 8 number out of nowhere. I didn't mean it literally. But looking at the rosters the point is still there. We have 3 guys 6'6 or taller (one is just 6'7) that see a lot of action. They have 7 guys that are just as tall or much taller that see a lot of action. Olaseni, White, and Basabe are very active and athletic. Utoff is 6'9 and very active and seems to have a nose for the ball. Marble is no stiff and Woodberry is very tall. Our guys get the most out of what ht. they have, but fouls could be a major issue. It is going to be a matchup problem for our guys and their length on the inside and the outside will be a challenge to deal with.

HAHAHA.....Clic is a total ISU troll on the HN board. He is trolling the HN board with that post.

I'm not sure where ISU got it stuck in their craw that ISU was "doing it the wrong way", but boy it certainly strikes a nerve with ISU fan.

Now word is Oglesby may redshirt.

When will the rest of the BB world catch a break from the on-rushing Franny juggernaut?

C'mon all you CFers, don't you know that Iowa always does things the right way. Iowa is a destination spot where all coaches dream of retiring. Wait till Brey is fired and Fran can't wait to put his name up for the job. There is no arguing with stupid.

In retrospect, Fred clearly made the right choice in selecting Kane, particularly with Bubu not eligible. Kane is having much more impact than Amardi would have, although I would rather he had selected Amardi vs. K.J.

Agree, plus Hogue and Ejim both play bigger than they are. Maybe the Iowa faithful realized why Fran wanted Hogue so bad after tuning in yesterday?

The key is whether a player can play defense and rebound. I seem to recall that ISU dominated the boards vs. Ohio State last year. Also pretty sure Ohio State had the size advantage. I don't remember how Iowa did against Ohio State last year, but Iowa finished lower in the conference.

Also, the downside of having bigger players is that they can't run with smaller players.

Getting a double double against the #7 team in the country while being one of our best defenders doesn't impress you? Hmmm

LOL. I guess Iowa's roster is full of players who will get a double-double when they play Michigan.
