Wife fell asleep during "Moonstruck", she walked out of "Green Mile", and we both left "No Country for Old Men", ("Old Country for No Man"???) The last being the worst acting by Tommy Lee Jones, ever.
Didn't the last two win Best Pic Oscars?

Say it ain't so!
Nope. I love Tommy Lee Jones, but if I wanted to see a wimpy, whiney, ineffective officer of the law, I'd just watch reruns of the Andy Griffith show. The only thing that could have salvaged that performance was if Tommy Lee would have blown Javier's head off, or if the final car crash would have killed Javier. Sorry, I know I am in the vast minority on this one, but this movie did not deserve the Oscar.
Now, I will give credit to Javier...I thought he was one of the best "bad guys" I have ever seen in a movie...he really was bad---!
I almost walked out of Freddy Got Fingered. I thought Tom Green was kind of funny at the time and there were some funny moments in the movie but overall it was terrible.
There were only 4 or 5 people in the theater.
If you left "No Country for Old Men" how did you know about the car crash at the end?

I thought Unbreakable was his best movie, but yeah he's been pretty bad since then.Come on, man.
If you thought Tom Green was funny (like a lot of people did, but don't wanna admit it now) you have to understand he was TRYING to make the worst movie possible. He went to the raspberry awards to accept and give a speech. He was more proud of that POS than anything. It's highly quotable and I just laugh at all the idiots and critics who actually took it seriously for more than a second.
Movie I walked out on: The Village (other than 6th Sense, M Night Shymalan is AWFUL.)
So it wasn't really the acting, you just hated the character.Nope. I was talking about Tommy Lee Jones' character. You said it was terrible acting but sounds like you just hated his character. No, I would say I give Javier loads of credit for both his acting and the character he portrayed. Any actor who can bring out strong emotions from the viewer is doing a great job! He was a very, very good "bad guy". He deserved an award, even though I thought the overall movie was bad and did not deserve the Oscar.
I think he got a lot actually.Yep, there he is...as much as I hated the movie, his acting deserved an award, but I don't think he got one? Please correct me if I am wrong.
