Have you ever walked out of a movie?

Wife fell asleep during "Moonstruck", she walked out of "Green Mile", and we both left "No Country for Old Men", ("Old Country for No Man"???) The last being the worst acting by Tommy Lee Jones, ever.

Didn't the last two win Best Pic Oscars?

Say it ain't so!

The only excuse I can think of is that she's a girl.
Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies ever and there are a lot of males who agree with me. I can understand if a lot of chicks aren't big Tarantino fans.

Nope. I love Tommy Lee Jones, but if I wanted to see a wimpy, whiney, ineffective officer of the law, I'd just watch reruns of the Andy Griffith show. The only thing that could have salvaged that performance was if Tommy Lee would have blown Javier's head off, or if the final car crash would have killed Javier. Sorry, I know I am in the vast minority on this one, but this movie did not deserve the Oscar.

Now, I will give credit to Javier...I thought he was one of the best "bad guys" I have ever seen in a movie...he really was bad---!

I loved "Green Mile", wife did not. I think it had something to do with the mouse. The ---hole prison guard was also a very well-acted part! Definitely brought out the hatred in me. I think he was the same actor who portrayed one of the British officers in "Patriot"...the one who ordered the burning of the church.

If you left "No Country for Old Men" how did you know about the car crash at the end?

I almost walked out of Freddy Got Fingered. I thought Tom Green was kind of funny at the time and there were some funny moments in the movie but overall it was terrible.

There were only 4 or 5 people in the theater.

Come on, man.

If you thought Tom Green was funny (like a lot of people did, but don't wanna admit it now) you have to understand he was TRYING to make the worst movie possible. He went to the raspberry awards to accept and give a speech. He was more proud of that POS than anything. It's highly quotable and I just laugh at all the idiots and critics who actually took it seriously for more than a second.

Movie I walked out on: The Village (other than 6th Sense, M Night Shymalan is AWFUL.)

Discussed with co-workers back when this movie originally came out. They told me that if I didn't like the movie, that it was good that I walked out because I would have hated the ending even more, with a car crash, and him just walking away. They were correct...I would have hated it even more had I stayed.

That movie did win the Oscar, but if I remember correctly, there really wasn't much competition that year for Best Pic...all of the nominees sucked, IMO.

I thought Unbreakable was his best movie, but yeah he's been pretty bad since then.

I just remembered that me and some friends walked out of The Age of Innocence in high school. It's a Scorsese movie with Daniel Day-Lewis so I'm sure it's good, but we just realized 20 minutes in that we were not in the mood to see that kind of movie.

So it wasn't really the acting, you just hated the character.

No, I would say I give Javier loads of credit for both his acting and the character he portrayed. Any actor who can bring out strong emotions from the viewer is doing a great job! He was a very, very good "bad guy". He deserved an award, even though I thought the overall movie was bad and did not deserve the Oscar.

I was talking about Tommy Lee Jones' character. You said it was terrible acting but sounds like you just hated his character.

OK, I guess it would be a little of both. Hated his character for sure, but also thought he wasn't the right actor for that part. Maybe Mr. Rogers or Justin Bieber would have better fit the role of the weak, neutered, helpless police officer.
