I think Kane was trying to do a little too much during Tech's run rather than let the offense do it's thing. Reverting back to his Marshall days.
Other than that, nicely played game over all.

I agree with you here, but I think everyone was pressing a little bit, Niang forced up a couple shots, ME forced a three, Kane missed a couple FT's. Once Morris and Naz came in and put some pressure on the ball on the defensive end and got the boys to run the offensive sets on the other side, things turned around.

The threes when it was really close were a bit questionable but yes, Kane was good. I wish he would've taken an open three in the first half.

Kane wasn't the only one missing the 3's. Ejim, Niang, Hogue, Naz, etc all missed them to. Don't know what the point is to single out Kane especially when his all around game was very good again.

Good win and effort by the players and staff. Opening up with a road game in an environment like TT a few days after the passing of Orr and the holidays is not easy.

I think it clear by now we do not trust Edozie enough to use him unless forced to. Hopefully he is a good learner from the bench so he is ready when that time comes.

Best game in long time for the freshmen today. Glad to see them both be more aggressive. I really think Monte will develop the ability to be an on ball defender that can turn his man over. We haven't had a player like that in a long time.

Yeah, Niang was definitely gassed out there and he gave up some easy baskets. Would have been nice to see Edozie for a bit, especially when we were giving up the offensive boards.

Kane amazes me every game. I have never seen anyone so adept at drawing fouls. I am sorry, but Kane detractors need to buy a new pair of glasses. This team runs like old-fashioned clockwork, and Kane is a good part of the reason along with every other player. Even our bench, I think they would beat most teams. We are going to lose one some day, but what I like is there is no such thing as selfishness on this team.

My two cents- I think his game is a little outside what Fred wants to do with offense. Other than that, I think he would play more.

I think it is more that we were having trouble scoring so why put in Edozie (who doesn't score) and further handicap us. I understand his defense might have helped but I don't think his defense is good enough to overshadow is lack of offense.

Tech fans seem to think the refs screwed them, lol

Here are some highlights:

I don't know. I'm a conspiracist, but it looks look the officials were pretty favorable to ISU this game.

ScarletBlack said:
College basketball officiating is the worst., especially Big 12 Officiating. Theses officials were pathetic in the last five minutes.

GunsUpDragon said:
Officiating is very questionable as there were too many favorable calls for ISU.

I hate to play that card but it just doesn't seem that the game gets called the same way on both sides.

There aren't detractors. People have pointed out that Kane had a stretch this game that wasn't very good, because he did. He stepped up his game and got back to the Kane we're used to seeing.

I would have loved for Techs fans to storm the court! They might have had the center court circle filled with fans!

UUUUMmm no. Let their 47 fans storm the court on TCU. That would mean we lost.

Anyway, I had less of a problem with Kane pressing a little than I did with the whole team loosing focus and talking a lot to the refs and the TT players when they didn't like some of the calls. I think it got them off focus and would hope they can see that and just let Fred worry about the Refs and calls.

I thought that with some of the toughness we've seen earlier this year we had gotten past letting a few calls get into the team psyche. I think that more than anything allowed that run by TT to get us on the schnied. Ignore it and Focus on the next play. You aren't going to win too many arguments with the refs, and I think it took some focus away and for 4-5 minutes they didn't really play their game.

That said it was frustrating, so I understand, I just hope they saw that it hurt their game to talk to the refs. They made their own calls about 2 mins later and that could be a valuable lesson for the meat of the Big XII schedule.

I thought he was solid throughout the game. There was a stretch that Tech was playing hard and got some breaks, shot well, and ISU missed some shots. I really didn't see that as Kane's fault. Sorry!

Agreed. Kane had a rough stretch, but came back solid. I'm somewhat worried that when things fall apart he often drives out of control in hopes of getting fouled. We may not get those calls when we play KU and OSU.

Tech only having 3 players score more than 2 points may have more to due with the loss then the refs,

I think that to some extent I understand their frustration, as the Refs were not very good today. They felt like they were screwed at a critical time of the game, and they may have been, because for TT every minute of that game was a critical time of the game.

But the calls were bad both ways. Man man was getting body checked every time he drove and shot. and there is no way in HELL they tie that game without some very favorable calls during that stretch. The calls came pretty close to evening out though and certainly weren't 10 points difference. I won't say more than that on the officiating because I like Tubby and TT when we aren't playing them, to think the ref's lost them this game is just a joke.
