This stings, BUT...

The game itself doesn't sting, it wasn't a heart breaker and the result was expected.

What stings is the big 12 standings.

7th out of 10.

Ouch.

I'd trade any of those non-conference wins for a win in conference. The 14-0 start is near meaningless at this point with how crucial every game is from here on out.

That top 10 ranking was such a tease. Combine that with all the talk that THIS IS THE YEAR Kansas finally doesn't win the Big 12, that's what stings. Soon to be 10 straight titles, and I learned my lesson. Until it's mathematically impossible, I'm assuming Kansas gets the title until the end of time.
February's schedule is soft compared to January. We won't be near 7th in March.

I've got to say, your team did you guys proud tonight. Even though you didn't come away with the win, I was really impressed by ISU this evening. You did something very few teams do and that is make our defense look bad. That is a testament as to just how talented a team you have this year. All I can say is wow. You've got one heck of a team over there.

Someday this team will learn to not go down big in games. Once they get that worked out they should be able to beat damn near anyone and everyone. Don't get that worked out and we are down in round 1 or 2 of the NCAA
We play like this we will go far in the tourney.we had a four game slump. KSU included. This game wasn't part of it. Boys played good basketball tonight and took Kansas best shot at home and I believe KU is the best team in the country right now. Both teams played on a high plain tonight. ISU has nothing to be ashamed of with that pperformance. No team in the country could have beat Kansas tonight.

You don't know that.

You -- we -- don't know nothing really.

OU looks BETTER than us right now. Are they? I don't know, we'll see. Texas isn't a guarantee at home, WVU isn't as terribad like last year, we never win at OSU, and as Kansas proved last year, no team is above an unlikely loss to TCU. We can't tell the future, we just have the current standings, and it's awful.

Just saying. The future might be rosy for the rest of you, but I'm just going off what we have. That's the lesson I learned after this year's football season.

Is anyone beating you guys this year? I'm just not sure I see it. Maybe @OSU but I wouldn't bet against KU in that one.

Plus, you need the 12 games to get in the tourney when you play in one of the toughest leagues. I don't believe seeding is as important when you are a unique team.

What? You think WVU, TCU, and Tech are the cream of the crop in the Big 12? Plus OU and Texas are at home. You can't argue that February isn't easier and if you do you are wrong.

This team is so frustrating to watch. How many stupid, unforced turnovers do I have to watch in a game? And why do I cringe whenever anyone shoots the 3? If we had a McGee, Christopherson, or even Babb, we'd be a totally different team, then maybe worthy of a top 10 ranking. But we don't so I guess I'll have to keep cringing.

Oh of course on paper it's easier, no doubt.

But that doesn't translate into knowing anything about the future. We're not above to losing to any of these teams at home or away. I think the freak 14-0 start has made people forget that. BYU, Iowa, and UNI were all a SINGLE shot away from beating us.

I didn't expect us to pull out a W here. However, I actually am relatively encouraged by this game. We played more like the team earlier in the year, and the team's never give up attitude was very apparent. I think we played much better here than our game vs KSU. We have a lot of good basketball ahead folks.

It's an improvement over the home loss for sure. KU is a class above us, more so than last year. Unfortunately ISU couldn't beat them when they turned it over 24 times in Hilton.

This KU team is one of their best ever. I just think they get too much credit for their depth when they really don't have as much, they are a much different team when Perry Ellis and Embiid are out, it seemed like our comebacks started with those 2 on the bench, we had situations when that was not true, I still think their bench is overrated....

I disagree about our bench. This is the deepest, and best bench I think I've ever seen KU have. I realize tonight it didn't produce a lot, but we did have Tarrik and Frankamp out for the game. We really missed Black this evening IMO. They didn't have the best night, but, one game in a vacuum doesn't mean much. There's a lot of talent there.

Just because we aren't above losing to these teams (which nobody in the Big 12 is except maybe Kansas) doesn't mean it won't be easier. We will have a much better record in February than January. You have my word.

Turnovers at the end of the game were pretty bad. But our 3 shooting was not really bad at all. (10-26) It brought us back in the game for sure. Have we had bad 3 nights, you betcha. Tonight, nope.

I do often think what it would be like if we added Babb to start with Hogue, Kane, Niang and Ejim with McGee off the bench. Wowza

Got it, much tougher schedule ahead, KU 2 times Texas and OU on the road cupcakes.

Oh by the way as it stands right now based on the teams we have played thus far, our conference record is better this year than it was last year. That's right my friend, last year we were 2-5 against this exact schedule of games..

Can't really be mad. I thought we played extremely well, outside of a couple untimely turnovers and the slow starts at the beginning of each half. Kansas is just a buzzsaw right now.
