Nothing wrong with people calling things as they see them as long as they are respectful in the way it is shared. Cyclones #1 was absolutely railed this week in his thread and he was very respectful with his posts, shared actual facts to support his opinion, and was never argumentative. I support that.

You see things one way...others see them another. Surely not everyone agrees with everything you say in every aspect of your daily life?

I have to agree again. That what this is, a message board. Its for discussion.

I love disagreement. It brings about great discussions and debate.

I despise sniveling, whining and regurgitation of the same complains - again and again - at the first sign of trouble.

Mizzou was beat again today by Baylor 100-89.. They are having problems also. We may win that game, except it will be senior day.

The thing is, you lose credibility when you ONLY have negative posts.

It's getting tough to stay positive after nights like these. :(

Never in my life will I be more glad when a season of ours is over. Not only are we rebuilding but then we have our best player playing at about 65 percent and our best defender and team leader playing on a bum knee all year. I may have to avoid the television Wednesday night.

The thing I don't get is there are only 2 types of posts (generalizing here) in these post-game threads. Either, we suck, fire McDermott, or we will be good in 2 years. Can't we just be pissed about losing, while not jumping off the deep end. I really don't want to hear about being good in two years. I have heard it before. Not that I disagree, but right now is the time to be frustrated at a loss. I know we are going to be better later, but that really isn't the issue.

The other side of this says fire McDermott, like that would make things better. It would probably set us in the hole another 2 years. It isn't like Coach K said he is coming when the job opens up.

I say we get frustrated when we should and hope when we should. That is all part of the ride. Otherwise, why am I following the team? (other than extreme loyalty to my alma mater, which I can't get out of my blood :) )

Absolutely agree. Lots of people believe in McD and the future but at the same time want to poke their eyes out while watching us play. Doesn't mean they are a bad fan they are just frustrated.

In retrospect, should we have redshirted Wesley?

I vote yes.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

Perhaps yes. But you have to wonder what things would be like if he hadn't reinjured his ankle a few weeks later?

Here's the thing...I didn't view Cyclone's #1 posts as negative. I thought they were very well thought out. Quite honestly...much better than those that were trying to argue against his points. It was a fairly good debate back and forth until some resorted to name calling (and here's a hint...it wasn't Cyclones #1).

There is nothing wrong with being a realist. Truth is that right now this program has some major problems and hurdles it needs to overcome. I support the team and I support the coach, but it does no good to paint everything rosy when there are some real questions about the future and whether this ship can be righted.

There is every bit of evidence that the level of concern should be as high as the level of optimism.

Yeah, that is basically what I am saying. I think we will be fine in a year or two, but this is painful. I should be used to it from watching football in the 90's though.

Yes, but then we would have lost probably at least 5 more games, and I think McD wanted to make sure we had at least a somewhat respectable ending record, if for nothing else other than recruiting.

It is hindsight. I was totally against it at the time. I thought we still had dreams for postseason play.

I don't think we should have redshirted him, because if he came back strong next year with 3 to play, he might only play 2 anyway.
