Custer could turn into Hinrich or he could ride the pine - that's why we have more than 5 scholarships, that's why they practice, that's why coaches get paid so much.

Hinrich wasn't even Hinrich early on. Tinsley "abused" him as his playground nickname would suggest those first two seasons.

Tinsley did abuse him but in all fairness Tinsley was an upperclassman all-american level point guard and Hinrich was a freshman/sophmore guard

That's my point, it's fine if Custer, Thomas, SDW or any other freshman takes a year or two to develop, especially when Fred has shown the ability to bring in guys like McGee, Hogue, Kane, Anderson, etc who produce immediately without even sitting out a year.

Eron Harris has asked for and been granted a release from WVU basketball team. He averaged 17.2 ppg as a soph.

Harris and Staten would have been an elite backcourt next year. I wonder if Staten doesn't play on being there next year also.

@GoodmanESPN: Indiana duo of Jeremy Hollowell and Austin Etherington both transferring from Indiana, sources told ESPN.

Hollowell's Rivals Page: http://rivals.yahoo.com/Alabama/basketball/recruiting/player-Jeremy-Hollowell-96678

and his Indiana bio: http://www.iuhoosiers.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/jeremy_hollowell_814321.html

@GoodmanESPN: Etherington can graduate, can play ASAP will have two years left. Hollowell will have to sit and have two left.

Would it be nice to have Harris next year? Yes. Would I want him? If Fred can handle him.

But, there's a 99% chance he won't be here, so I'll leave this here.

Etherington had very little impact for a very mediocre Indiana team. Unless Fred thinks he can do big things, PASS.

As for Hollowell, he'd be a huge get for our 2015/2016 team.

I don't know much about these Indiana guys.... Are they players? Did they put up stats, or is Crean just getting rid of some dead weight to open up scholarships?

I'm hopeful Fred's first big high school class is 2015. With all the exposure, I'd love to see him go out and get a couple highly rated high school guys.
Maybe we can begin to rely less on transfers that sit out a year. Start getting top 100 HS talent and fill in gaps with Juco and 5th year guys.
