DL
Rodney Coe - Team rules - would be SR
David Irving - Obvious reasons - would be SR
Austin Krick - lack of PT - Would be SR
Quinton Pompey - Grades - Would be JR
collin Bevins - personal reasons - Would be RS SO

DE
Devin Lemke - personal reasons - SO
Nick Kron - never heard..... SO

This is really painful because with this group in tack I would have a lot less worries this year.....

Yup. Our D line could use a little more depth.

I have nothing to add other than the picture.

Reading between the lines of the offseason reports and statements, it sounds to me like some of those might be 'addition by subtraction' due to severe chemistry issues that existed in the group last year.

While you are at it, you could add Luna and Ayeni to the list as redshirting due to injury.

Frankly, it's impressive that we have as much depth as we have, given that list.

Depth is one thing but the point I am getting to, majority of that list would be higher in the 2-deep that who we have on it now. Personally I believe Krick (walk-on) would be in the 2-deep if he was here today....

Is Mc.Doormat coaching the d-line? In PR's tenure we have never had a d-line.

This is the first Google image I get for "in tack."

This is the second. While I like this look better, I don't see how either of these outfits would help the DLine be any better this season. Perhaps the second would make them feel sexy and give them confidence?

We've never really had a complete dline...ever. We either have a solid interior with 220lb des or good DEs and no interior. What's new. Let's move on and see how it plays out because I think we have two solid interior d lineman and one heck of a stud at DE and an emerging one in Myers.

Aside from Irving and Coe (both huge loses) none of the rest were starters at the Big 12 level, maybe Pompey but we have no clue. I figure if you have guys like Pierson and Taylor walking in and already pushing the 1s, the attrition could have opened up spots for better players. Meyers is going on his third year with the program and Taylor walks in and after 3 weeks had a chance to start over him. The only thing our depth lacks now is experience, but from all accounts the depth does not lack talent.

I like what I have heard from Trent Taylor, sounds like the type of speed we have lack for a long-time....

From what I heard about Pompey he had the work ethic of a snail late for a meeting.

Might be tougher to cut jello with a filet knife than to run the ball against us this year.

Photo of Captain Obvious, in tack, the work ethic of a snail late for a meeting, and tougher to cut jello with a filet knife.

This thread has some impressive posts.

I think Moorehead, Leaders, Curvey, & Berryman would disagree as well. They'd get a little gassed due to a lack of depth (surprise), but man they played hard for being a bit undersized.
Jordan Carstens was a stud also about this time period....
Here is an oldie but a goodie, 2000-2001
Nigel Tharpe, James Reed, Kevin DeRonde, Reggie Hayward, with backups - Harklau, Carstens, TeBrink

All solid guys, work horses, wanted to be here and work for it.....and by the way 5 year guys as well.

We'll get there - I think we have a great foundation wtih this group.
