I've skimmed through this thread and gave my input from time to time. One thing I haven't read someone mention yet is JP's boss didn't hire him. Leath probably has a lot less loyalty to JP than Geoffroy did/would. I imagine that is a thought that has to go through his head as he watches the football program struggle.

I think that's a good point. From all I've heard, Leath and JP have a very good relationship. But football is huge to a university in many ways - and Leath may not have as much patience with CPR as JP wants. After all, he put the hammer down on Veishea, so we know Leath can pull the trigger...

If I'm JP I'm on the phone with the marketing department trying to drum up some more false enthusiasm to keep people interested. If this year looks like last year, we've got ourselves not only a football program debacle, but a financial debacle.

I'm sure Leath would be none-to-happy to have to spend millions of university dollars to buy out a football coach that JP extended based on a knee-jerk reaction.

The contract is back loaded, increases each year, and CPR is due another $300K next year and in 2018. I'm not sure we can afford to buy him out until after 2017, avoiding the next retention payment, and even then we'd still have four years left on the contract at that point (through 2021). I would get used to him as our coach.

If this contract was written inside a business corporation, the board of directors would balk on any payment, lawyer down, drag any settlement out for ten years, and then settle for 10 cents on the dollar. In universities, where you are using other people's money, it's, "hey, we gotta pay it."

Jordan Harris saying "I wanna go home!".

But someone pointed out to me that it might just mean he wants to go home from the library, so there's a chance it doesn't mean what we think it might. :twitcy:

Jordan Harris is supposedly a gamer. I understand his frustrations for not playing. He needs to get into a game like that and get his feet wet. Our LB's did not play well IMO.

It seems like Knott didn't play much or maybe I just didn't notice when he did. He's suppose to be 100% healthy now isn't he?

Pollard should resign. The failure is not on the field, the failure is at the top. The A.D. has taken incredible risks with a fragile football program going back to the firing of the winningest ISU football coach in history. If a sell out crowds watch a disastrous football season, coupled with the elimination of VEISHEA; the stadium expansion could be the final football blunder for the AD. Pollard should man up; move on and let someone else sort out his debacle.
Dis jus dum!!!!

Don't know about his health. It seems that both Knott and Jordan Harris DID NOT Play. LB play sucked IMO. Same kind of sucky LB play we had last year against UNI. At least play Harris and let him get his feet wet for a few snaps.
Maybe the Plan is to alienate Jordan Harris by souring him on ISU so he can tell his former teammate JUCO Defensive Player of the Year DT Demond Tucker to go someplace else. IDK what the deal is. But we have guys out there that obviously are not getting it done.

I am of the opinion that if Sam struggles at QB against K-State that you have to give Rohach a shot at the job during the game. Our offense was toothless in the second half. Try something.

Hard to understand about Knott unless there's something we don't know because he was pretty decent as a freshman. I'm hoping the staff gets Montgomery out there and let's it fly to see if he and Sam can get their old high school connection going, which would be huge for the offense. I agree, if the O struggles again, especially with Farniok in there, then Rohach needs to get a shot. I'm probably in the minority, but if you've got two qb's that are fairly close as I think Sam and Rohach probably are, what's wrong with changing it up if things are stagnant and trying to find the hot hand.

If they are fairly close, why would Rohach improve things?
