I understand people get burnt out but you don't quit on your team after one game. I'm a firm believer that you finish what you started, he started the season, so he should finish the season.

Strange. These things usually happen in the spring/beginning of camp when the players are putting in all that work without the fun of the games. As Michael Strahan once said, "they pay me for Monday through Saturday, I work Sundays for free".

As a 5th year senior, he's surely been yelled at hundreds of times by coaches. The only thing I can think of that might be different is that he doesn't feel like taking the hits on a team that might not be very good.

I will say this-- I don't think I've ever seen someone get burnt out one game into the year on a winning team.

No way Pollard can bring back Rhoads unless he wins 6+ games

I don't think games are fun for these players anymore. It is for their opposition though.

If he didn't want to finish out his season, it's probably for the best. Doesn't make him a bad person, just means he didn't want to play football anymore, so you might as well fill his spot with someone that wants to be there.

Good for him. If you're not in the game, make way for someone else. Most people look at it as selfish, but I look at it the opposite way. If you aren't committed 100% you aren't doing the program any favors and he might as well make way for Campos.

agreed. For the "if you start something, finish it!" crowd, you don't want to see the results of someone going through the motions on the offensive line. That's a good way to get your quarterback hurt.

This is just supposition but he did get burned quite a bit in pass protection last weekend. I wonder if they were going to start Campos and maybe he didn't want to continue if he wasn't going to be the starrter.

Has to be this. I don't know how you put in all of the work and effort as a redshirt, and later as a backup, just to reach your final season of football EVER, and be a starter on a major conference team with 50,000+ watching you, and quit after the first game.

But as others have said, if he's not in it for whatever reason, then it's probably best to get out of the way.
