This is my opinion on the situation. These athletes are brought on campus to represent the university. In this case, I see this as no different than a university staff member making comments like this. What would happen? More than likely they would be fired. What would happen if a university staff member were to do the things that Winston did before this incident? They would be fired. As one of the commentators said on Saturday, Winston needs to go. He is not learning from his mistakes. He just keeps doing stupid things. Also, if I were Jimbo I would sit him for a quarter in the next game for him showing up for pregame warmups in full uniform to make not only the university, but also the coaching staff look stupid. Like I said, these kids are here to represent the university, and Winston is not doing a good job of that. This to me is worse than the Palo thing, and look what happened to him.

With that logic you should never delete a post post or ban someone again, let's just get rid of mods all together. Not my fault if you are offended by what I say, nor should I ever be held accountable.

Oh trust me. He relishes his little God of the universe role.

He'll delete, he'll close threads, he'll post under a psuedonyms to stir up trouble, he'll ban people for doing things he'll turn around and do himself in a NY second.

All that proves is that your wife isn't very cool.

Look, if you want to be offended, be offended. Nobody can tell you or your sheltered wife what you can and can't be offended by. But, take a step back and see exactly what you're being so butthurt about. A college student said something vulgar. Stop the presses! How will society survive?

This might be an instance where it would be good for you to consider your own advice. You're off the deep end again and it's only Monday...

I'm not particularly sheltered. I'm around guys a lot, and raised a few of them. I still find what he did to be obscene. I can (somewhat) overlook stuff like that when alcohol is involved. To my knowledge, that was not the case here. I could also (somewhat) overlook it if it was a one time only thing. Still woudn't find it funny.

The problem here is that it is a pattern of behavior for Jameis...and that I find more difficult to laugh off. Certainly there are worse things happening in sports right now. Do you suppose if someone had taught Ray Rice how to respect women, how to talk to them and about them, that his wife might be safer?

At this point, I'm firmly in the corner that Jameis has no respect for his coaches or athletic department either, considering he apparently showed up thinking they would let him play despite being suspended for the game. His world appears to revolve around him, and like I said earlier, he strongly needs a reality check.

terrible reasoning on your part. Not once did I say that Jameis wasn't at fault or shouldn't be held accountable, only that the punishment given was a ridiculous overreaction, given the offense.

I have too much respect for Angie to take a similar shot at her. But afraid I've lost mine for you. And a while ago. I know you're crushed.

But go ahead, take it up a notch and repeat. Try it on your front lawn. Go ahead. I triple dog dare.

Fact is, you won't. I wouldn't put it past you to say you did - but you won't.

I find it particularly mature, yet not unexpected, that you would take shots and poke fun at a woman you've never met, nor has ever said a word to you Janny. That alone, probably speaks more to your position on this than anything else.
similar shot? I made a sarcastic quip about your wife being uncool because you said she didn't know what a meme is. It's a joke, dude. Get over it. Way to prove my point about getting bent out of shape over stuff that's not that big of a deal.

The shocked look on Jimbo's face when the entitled punk was prancing around in pads was a classic. Poor Jameis ran his azz off trying to get on TV every chance he could, if only he knew they were going to show him after every play anyway. I don't think I have seen a suspended player in the huddle all the time either.

You're an idiot. Out of a paragraph +, I'm supposed to gain that you were responding to one word? Call my wife uncool and sheltered. I reiterate ... idiot.

Go ahead an ban me for name calling. It's what you do and your only way. Live behind the shield.

Maybe FSU has gotten to the point where his act is wearing thin and they're trying to get through to him and make it clear that his ******** has gotten old.

If I had been accused of rape, I wouldn't be shouting "**** HER RIGHT IN THE *****!" at the student union less than a year later. And I'm not even remotely high-profile in Des Moines, much less a nationally-recognized superstar quarterback whose every move is a matter for public discussion.

This penalty wasn't levied because he said something vulgar. It was levied because he's perpetually acting stupid and it's time he cut that **** out.

The dude has serious issues with maturity. It's one thing if Joe Nobody from a mediocre football team does something stupid to get in trouble, but Winston is pretty much guaranteed an NFL contract if he makes it to the league alive. He's costing himself a lot of money. I would think NFL teams will shy away from anointing him as their franchise QB early in the draft. The only silver lining is he might fall to a contender and take over a solid team.

All things aside, the kids an idiot. If it were any other student on his entire campus the incident would be a non-issue and everyone would go about their business.

LOL, that would require that NFL teams have some kind of behavioral standards.

Aren't jokes supposed to be funny? That seemed more like being a **** than a joke, and if anyone said something like that about my wife, I'd knock their ******* lights out.

I am curious as to who was around when he said it. By the tweets, it wasn't a small crowd. It is a college campus, I am assuming there could have been women of all ages around.

They typically do have some standards when it comes to quarterbacks. It's one thing when a wide receiver or cornerback acts this way; this type of behavior has typically been tolerated from those positions (as well as others, but often those two in particular). But teams usually look for something more out of a potential franchise quarterback.

Yea. Janny also thought it was funny a couple years ago to poke fun at a bomb threat situation in Cedar Falls at the place where Ms A was at the time. He's a regular comedian, didn't you know?

WR and CBs don't cost as much and aren't trusted as the face of your franchise.

Look at Johnny Football dropping to 22, partly because of his off field antics.

If Winston comes out and has a phenomenal pro day then he might be forgiven and taken top 5 but he seems seriously unstable. Even the amount of attention whoring he was doing on the sidelines is a red flag to me if I'm looking for a franchise QB. Everyone wants an Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson who will come in and win right away while looking squeaky clean. If then end up with a flame out they will pay dearly.

If you were specifically referring to her not knowing what a meme is you shouldn't have quoted the entire post. It pretty much came across as you saying his wife was uncool because she didn't like what Jameis said. Personally I think you owe the guy an apology but feel free to bash me instead, that seems to be your go to move.

I'm 100% with you. In a week where all we've talked about is athletes hitting women and children (ie. actual bad acts), jumping up on a table and saying something silly is a complete non issue. Half a game for something that could have/should have drawn windsprints is overkill. A full game? Ridiculous.

well many believe he got away with an actual bad act against a woman, so it's not the comment but the person who made it that resulted in a much deserved suspension.
