Corso had a stroke in 2009, and probably shouldn't be on TV anymore. I wish they'd limit him to a few minutes each day and then have him put on the mascot head, but apparently espn thinks watching him have trouble forming sentences is something that should be on tv. Sad in my opinion. As far as GameDay goes... Its time, Hilton Magic is one of the best atmospheres in college hoops.
Yeah, it stinks to see a company be loyal to an employee...

Put me in the group of people who can't watch an NBA game, but will watch CBB all day long.

Same here. Also, I almost never want to watch NFL, but could watch CFB every night of the week.

You can tell basketball season is getting close with the way tuco posts.
Nah, I've just attended too many "retirement parties" in the last two years for employees who were shown the door when they were viewed as not worth their salaries earned over decades of service. It's just nice (and rare) to see a company stay loyal to an employee, even as their performance and ratings start to slip. By pure metrics, Corso and Chris Berman should be long gone from ESPN. Not trying to argue.

They don't announce the site until the week before.

This ^^^

Here is the link

"Also new this season is a flexible schedule that will give College GameDay the option to react to storylines as the season develops to better ensure visits to top games on ESPN networks each week. The site will be announced the week prior, similar to the ESPN College GameDay Football program."

I did not know that. Thank you all for the update! It probably makes more sense. I bet Okie lite falling apart and having nobody at their airing of college gameday had a huge part in this decision.

Yeah it's a good thing for ESPN... Sucks for ISU fans to have to wait another 3 months to find out.

Update from the Athletic Department for students.
Jonathan,
You may have already noticed the start time for our men’s basketball game versus Kansas, Saturday Jan. 17, has not been set. ESPN requested the athletics department be flexible with scheduling this game to possibly accommodate ESPN’s College Gameday that morning in Hilton Coliseum.
Because ESPN will not be making its decision on Gameday until the first week in January, we feel it is in the best interest of our student ticket holders to proactively modify our student ticket policy for the January 17th game. We are making this adjustment in order to prevent student ticket holders having to choose between attending ESPN’s Gameday and waiting in line for their KU basketball ticket.
Athletics department officials recently met with the Athletics Directors student advisory committee to seek student input on possible modifications to the student ticket policy. As a result of that meeting the following student ticket policy was endorsed for the KU men’s basketball game:

  1. Student ticket pick-up for the men’s basketball game versus Kansas will be at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday, Dec. 6th.
  2. All student men's basketball tickets for the Kansas game will be reserved seating, based on a first-come, first served basis.
We recognize this is a change from the normal student attendance procedure, however, we felt it was important to develop a plan in the best interest of our loyal students who will want to attend both College Gameday and the basketball game that evening. We selected Saturday, Dec. 6 to avoid most issues with academic conflicts and to be able to allow students to wait in line inside Hilton Coliseum, thereby limiting issues with cold weather.
Additional information will be sent to you by email in the next few weeks.
We look forward to another great crowd on Friday with the official season opener against Oakland in the opening rounds of the CBE Classic... Go Cyclones!

So am I understanding it correctly that once you pick up your ticket, you're guaranteed that seat? If so, looks like I'll be camping out Dec. 5th instead of Jan. 16th.

Crazy to think only 2 years ago it was "crazy" to be out there 5 or 6 hours before gametime. Then last year campers for 2 days. Now that game is on another planet in importance to the fan base. Now we have to get the tickets a month and a half beforehand. Craziness going on in Ames over basketball. Love every minute of it
