The crowd probably wasn't that good due to the fact that Cyclone Alley didn't make the trip to KC.

If you think BDJ was the problem tonight you've got to rewatch this game. The only guy who could buy a basket tonight and he was playing like it. Even shared the ball a few times when he saw a teammate with a better opportunity, nobody could hit anything though. 17 points, 7 rebounds, and a steal, shooting 50% from the field. If just one other guy on the team stepped up and played like BDJ we win this game.

I was at the game tonight. Seven rows from the Court. And he had a decent statistical game. But he doesn't share the ball, didn't do anything to stop Wells in the second half and had the intentional foul instead of trying for the block. I also observed other general conduct between him and his teammates. He hasn't bought in yet. Lets leave it at that.

We were at the game. We cheered loud just like at Hilton. The team looked tired, did not rebound at all and could not hit a shot. Fred will use this as a good learning lesson and they will come out stronger.

Agree. Our section would get up and get loud/wild and Maryland would hit some ******** circus shot and would go in, only to bring everyone down. Old timers would sit right after...tough to keep them up.... But man, we all really tried to get up and raise hell every time the team showed life....but Maryland hit f-ing shot after shot. I tried screaming at the refs too. (Just wasn't our night, bottom line.)

i truely hope this is what the team needs to really wake up/find a way to grind out a tough shooting night. It's November and we have Fred Hoiberg at the helm. We'll be fine.

f Maryland- had a fan that deserved to be punched in the face.... So I wish them the worst this season.... Except when they play the sqawks.... Cause, F iowa more.

it'll be alright, Freddy and co. will bounce back. Go Clones-

Wow you really hate BDJ.... in multiple threads.

I don't hate him. But some kids are winners and some are stat stuffers. I would be really happy to be wrong but he isn't Kane or Jamaal Tinsley. Both had alot of me to them but in crunch time they would make winning plays. Not sure how the intentional foul would be characterized as a winning play.

You're right, Kane never got angry or frustrated when he got fouls called on him, missed a shot, or the team had an off night.

Not saying that at all. But they is a different team. And this team needs BJD to do more from an attitude standpoint. He simply doesn't trust his teammates yet. I hope that changes. And to be clear my issue is much more on the defensive end. He had the capability to be a great defender. Maybe the Big 12 defensive player of the year. But he doesn't bring it on that end of the court consistently. For instance the middle of the 2nd half when Wells was driving right past him.
Did the same thing happen with Georges and Matt absolutely. Is BJD a better defender such that I expect more; absolutely. As twocoach indicated our defense is a problem that McKay himself is not going to single handedly change.

I was watching on tv and saw empty ROWS starting at about the 6 minute remaining mark.
There were empty seats all game long. I didn't notice anyone leaving until the 2 minute mark.

As far as people calling out the fans that attended the game, you should seriously stfu. We showed up and cheered for our Cyclones.

I will agree with some of this. McKay, himself, will not be a defensive savior, and everybody needs to play more consistent defense. BDJ, from a physical & athletical standpoint, can be a superior defender, but not everyone is going to be Chris Babb. Its a mentality that not every great bball athlete has, but yes I'll agree he needs to be more consistently good.

Lol at comments from people that weren't even there. Crowd wasn't amazing but it was fine. Our team had a cold night, I don't get what's so difficult to comprehend. It happens, we'll be fine.

Defense is 90% effort and it wasn't there tonight. The few times they turned up the pressure and sped Maryland up, good things happened. I thought we had an advantage in team speed tonight and just completely wasted it by being passive defensively.

In the end, they shot well, we didn't. Off nights happen.

You do understand that Hilton south is not a second court connected to the southern part of Hilton right? It's actually down in KC. Between the stupid in the football section, game thread(we are going to the NIT according to some), and now here I think the levels of stupid coming from this site are close to what HN normally has.

I accept my part of the responsibility: My "cyclone" was weak during "cyclone power" and I didn't wear my lucky shirt. I left it in the car and didn't bother to go get it. There was nearly a fight in my area - not enough beer. What would Hilton be like with a bar in the concourse.

Were you there? No? Then shut the hell up. You have no right to complain on crowd if yiu just sit at home.

Crowd was fine and not an issue. Team played very, very poorly.

In all fairness, he's got a busy mall security weekend coming up. Gotta prepare.
