What bothered me tonight was the fact that our guys looked out of shape at almost every weight! Not being able to match talent is one thing. Not matching intensity and buying time at each whistle to suck some air is embarrassing. And KJ sat in his chair without flinching for 90% of the dual. I was there and after Evans had to call Weatherman back to the center because Tanner was gassed (this was the most glaring example of our guys being out of shape) and Kyven's display I was embarrassed walking out with my Cardinal and Gold on.

Gadson does what Iowa wrestlers have done for the better part of the last quarter-century, and the butthurt brigade shows up in their whaambulance.

Cry me a river.

Thank you. I am now adding "butthurt brigade" to my lexicon since I needed some more alliteration.

You won the dual, but any stupid deaf blind and dumb Cyclone fan would have probably predicted that! But way to scoop what I said under the rug Burak.

#3 guy vs. #6 guy at home. Pretty sure it would've been a good match either way. Regardless, if Gadson won it would've been more understandable for him to smack it up with the crowd then instead of after beating a 184 lb. backup. But whatever.

Bad on top. Bad on bottom. I guess I appreciate the balanced approach. Did we pull out all the stops tonight? I couldn't tell.

Gonzo is an idiot; must not have a life to troll on the opposition's forum when winning by a wide margin. Football and basketball are not looking so good in IC this year, so wrestling has to fill the void. Especially when you consider that the Hawkeye athletic budget is about $25 million higher than ours. With those numbers, you have to win at something - or do you?

But let's given credit where credit is due. We may not like their methods, but the Hawks recruit like crazy and that is why they are where they are and we are where we are. I hate the attitude and hate the wrestling culture there, but if we want to play in the big leagues, that is what we are up against.

But more than losing, I am really, really annoyed that we are gassed by the 3rd round - that is unforgiveable at this level and it happens every year. It is so, so frustrating to watch.

My hats off to those wrestlers who left it all on the mat, and who work to the best of their god given ability every day in the room.

But the bottom line? We need more talent and we need better conditioning if we are going to play even with the big dogs. Plain and simple. I can take losing to the #1 ranked team in the country. But I cannot watch guys that are not in condition in late November. It just isn't right.

I get the feeling Pollard is gonna let Wrestling die on the vine and pump whatever leftover re$ources into other Olympic sports, like Track.....maybe VB

Whatever. The only time I chimed in was when Gadson acted like a doosh to the crowd after winning. I hate shite like that no matter who does it. I think Hall is better than he wrestled tonight, he's a high energy guy but if he gets down early he struggles to battle back. I really like the Rodriguez kid out of Nebraska, he got in deep on several double legs against an experienced wrestler and experience will benefit him to finish those moves out. Evans was clearly better tonight but Weatherman has loads of potential and if the match was in Ames I wouldn't at all be surprised if it went the other way. I do think ISU's guys looked gassed. Iowa has looked the same the past few years in matches against PSU, Minney, and OSU and it's frustrating as hell. But it's early.

Just the opinion of the idiot troll.

This is spot on. It's embarrassing. When an Iowa wrestler is begging you back to the center as you suck air, that's embarrassing. I said it earlier but KJ sat in his chair like he was disinterested too. It's a team wide issue, not just a few guys looked gassed. Almost every weight!

Conditioning is not great this time of the year. It sucks to lose to Iowa, their fans are ********, etc.

Let's see how we progress. KJ's international experience has always led to guys wrestling their best at the end of the year. I think this team has more points in them than the last two, so we will see how it plays out.
