Not to stick up for flag guy, but he's probably just some drunk college kid while Brackens is an elite athlete, fat suit or not. I would hope he could beat flag guy.

Take this for what it's worth but.. my gf has a side gig for a marketing company for events and she just got a request to fill "ESPN College Gameday" for January 17th in Ames.

This goes against the thought that ESPN picks the gameday that week, so I'm not sure what's really going on...

I get the end of the thought process is we are getting game day, but what does a request to fill espn college gameday mean? What are they filling? Hilton? Wouldn't the ISU AD marketing dept do that?

I think what he meant is ESPN College Gameday has a time slot that has to be filled, so they are going to Hilton

I wouldn't read too much into it at this point. They probably have to book some of that in advance despite the late decision point. I wouldn't be surprised if they are able to put down a deposit with the agreement that the deposit will transfer to a future event if the Game Day event goes away this time.

I hope you revealing this doesn't get your GF in trouble with her employer and the client.

They probably sent the same request to every location being considered. You can't literally just roll a national broadcast into town with no prep work done.

Doubt you get a ticket then, the amount of people camping will multiply today and then add the people who will get in line early Saturday morning. You'd be very lucky to just show up at noon and get a ticket

Then I get reimbursed. Which has never happened. I don't think people will get turned away.
