I don't care if Ohio State just destroyed Wisconsin. It doesn't make up for the fact that the Big 10 was garbage again this year. If either TCU or Baylor don't make it in its a travesty, especially TCU.
OSU just beat the #13 team in the country with their 3rd-string quarterback. The Semioles are the defending national champs and are the only remaining undefeated team in the country. Last year they broke the SEC's streak of 7 straight national championships. To suggest that they should be left out of the playoff is really pushing it to the limit.
ESPN already cranking up the B1G hype machine this morning. Colin Cowherd and Danny Kanell both agree that TCU should be out in favor of OSU. Both agree that the Big 12 has been overhyped this season and want to punish the Big 12 for not having a conference championship game. Colin ho-humming TCU's win yesterday as being against "awful" ISU (I agree, but, body of work, Colin).
I know it's been said many times on this board, but our conference went years and years of missing out on the biggest bowl games because of our conference championship game while other conferences didn't have those championship games and got to sit around watching the Big 12 finish up their season. I don't remember a situation where those conferences without championship games were looked down upon in the bowl selections in favor of those who did have championship games, and now that's all we're hearing about.
Ah yes, the 3 points. OSU had a shutout and TCU did not. I think the votes for B12 may be divided and they will not have a team. Thanks, Netten.
