I think its a joke that the pundits are ripping the Big XII for not having a Championship game when 2 years ago Bowlsby commissioned to have one and was told that our conference would not be allowed to have one because we only have 10 teams and no divisions...funny how that never mattered in the Pac 12 or Big 11 who they all believe are superior to our conference despite the lack of success on the big stage, Ohio State, and the lack of quality/competitiveness of the Pac 10/12

It's all a gigantic pack of lies and BS. Nobody gave a crap when the Pac and Little Ten didn't have title games for years while the better football conferences Big 12 and SEC had them. This is 100% about the name on the jersey.

The minute Notre Dame (who has a nearly identical SOS to TCU) is a good one loss team suddenly not having a championship game will mean exactly nothing to these same pathetic corporate shills making up lies to defend putting a team from a horrible conference with a bad loss in over TCU and Baylor.

Our fixed replay review vs OK State this year had me on the brink. There are bad calls and then there is taking your time to deliberately break the rules of the game during a replay review. Probably the worst call you'll ever see given that it was correct on the field and the replay showed absolutely nothing. There's simply zero reason for that mistake to be made.

Texas wanted TEN. Lets make that clear. Despite my feelings on the league, David Boren loves the league. He wanted 12. He still wants 12, he wants a bridge to WVU
Hold on, don't start that now.
One of the unspoken rules here at CF: nothing with the Big 12 is ever Texas' fault. Nebraska, A&M, Mizzou yes, but never Texas.

The entire "Body of Work" was ignored when it came to Ohio State. They beat a Wisconsin team that had a single Top 25 win over Nebraska. And Ohio State only had 2 Top 25 wins. Feasting on a conference schedule of teams ranked between 50 and 60 does not make you a great team. It is almost like playing in the MAC.

stormin-appreciate the passion but, as usual you don't like facts getting in the way. Fact is Ohio State beat 3 ranked teams (MSU, Wisconsin and Minnesota). Baylor and TCU each beat two. Ironically one of TCU's was a B10 team. Not that this really matters, but when relying on facts to make an argument, make sure they're facts.

I thought it was pretty clear the committee was just making stuff up as they went along.

Absolutely, and look at how many are buying it. With no transparent criteria it is set up to be a target painted around the arrow. Mostly to prevent NIU 2012 situations, but also of great benefit in the jockeying between the P5.

Conference co-champion and no CCG means nothing given ND can be in the discussion and that more than one SEC team populated the top four until losses forced the committee to drop them out.

Remember at how ****** the Big 12's bowl tie ins were even with A$M, NU, and MU? This is just an extension of that, but with even less TV support, less transparency, and more bias. The committee can do whatever it wants, is largely subjective, and has a clear agenda that will never favor BU and TCU over Bama or Ohio St.

You do realize Baylor vs KSU would have been the conference championship matchup right? If we added the 2 teams necessary and split north south it would have been exactly that matchup.

But it would have been the second time they played.... Or someone else good.

Sometimes it's hard to accept how corrupt the whole thing is. It feels better to believe that it's really about the competition on the field and merit earned through victory.

Quit with the conspiracy theories. Ohio State has a better resume than Baylor or TCU. Higher SOS and played more teams with a winning record.

More teams with a winning record is a red herring. It's called 4 more teams to pad each other's records with.

B12 looking like the Mountain West today.

Five Power5 Conferences and 4 spots in the College Football Playoff. At least one conference was going to get left out. And possibly 2 conferences if Mississippi State only had 1 loss and 2 teams were taken from the SEC. And the committee would have done that in a heartbeat, despite the rhetoric that "Championships" matter.

Bowlsby shouldnt have had to declare anything. According to the Big 12 conference rules, of their making, Baylor was the Champion. At least the representative for the conference in Bowl play. They beat TCU and that was the factor to make them the champ.
The committee had to have known this was in their rules for the Big 12.
Then it is only a matter of OSU vs BU. OSU #37 - BU #84 out of conference SOS, add that OSU was undefeated in the BIG and there you have it.
It was pretty easy to leave out the Big 12 based on the above info.
