Obviously we don't know what Fred's stance is, but I can make the argument that Fred thinks this kid is a loser and BDJ is fine. It will be in the middle, but it goes both ways.
I'm guessing that is a pretty weak argument, because even if CFH did think that about this neighbor, I doubt he would express that to BDJ or the neighbor. If CFH and BDJ agreed the bad behavior should have stopped, then it should have stopped. If it didn't...then that is on BDJ, and CFH needs to deal with it.

Latest update from the Daily. You guys calling out White, still cool with the living conditions he has put up with?

White said Hoiberg was very strict and direct with Dejean-Jones about his expectations for the senior transfer from UNLV and in White's words, "...did everything that a coach should have been doing."
White described the behavior of Dejean-Jones and his roommates in detail and explained why he could take it no longer.
"They outright leave their trash out in the hallways and there was one morning I came home and the trash was littered all over the hallway," White said. "There is puke in the hallways and every smell that comes into the hallway in this building has been linked to their unit. [There are] parties at all hours of the night, all days of the week. Last night specifically I think it was just them screaming at each other playing video games at 4 a.m."
Noise, garbage and smells, however, are far from the only concern to White, who lives one door down from Dejean-Jones.
White described a particularly vulgar incident that happened recently.
"I came home one day and I noticed there was a note on their door," White said. "Someone else posted it, it was not me. Someone wrote them a nice handwritten letter that said this is what you guys are doing; we do not appreciate it. We would like it if you guys showed more respect.
"A couple hours later that note was on my door with the words 'suck my d***' written on it because they thought I did it. I shrugged it off, put it back on their door and later that night they came pounding on my door with the letter. They were drunk and fights almost happened that night."
White said he has felt physically threatened before but does not believe that Dejean-Jones or his roommate will pursue physical violence.
"I do not feel like they are going to try and do anything physical towards me, but when my mom and friends come over, nobody likes being here," White said.
A person inside Dejean-Jones' apartment did not open the door and declined to comment.

People leaving trash in the hallway in college NO WAY! How has the puke been leaked to their unit exactly? BDJ parties every night...sure....

Maybe there is a reason why they assumed you wrote the note to begin with.

Yup, I'm fine with it. Welcome to college housing, deal with it or move.

Contrary to popular belief being in college doesn't give you a free pass to be an ******* without consequences. I take all this with a grain of salt because the truth is rarely at one extreme or the other, but to say that they're in college so throwing trash or puking in the hallways is ok or even expected is ********.

Wasn't it Johnny Orr who was well known for saying that nothing good happened after midnight?

He was a player's coach. He seemed like he knew how to have a good time. Yet he also knew what it meant to prioritize the team.

Time for Coach Matt A to sit on BDJ for a while!

People that continue to blame his neighbor are pathetic. He has every right to complain when the building he lives in is treated in an unacceptable manner and is harrassed by other people.

Actually it makes me think this is much more a personal issue. It's ibvious the wrestler was ******. It's obvious bdj didn't like the wrestler. Both are dicks. Nothing done warrants a suspension from my view. Fred may disagree.

Who's blaming the neighbor?

Here's the sides of the story;

White's
BDJ's
the cops
*the truth*

What I'm saying is it looks pretty bad for the cops...looks like they made **** up to punish BDJ for being a ****ty neighbor. But here's the thing, we can't know if any of us would find BDJ's behavior bad. We only know that this particular neighbor did.

If the sound level is recorded outside, how can they know that all 60 decibels is coming from the apartment and not a car or other sounds nearby?

I can't succintly quote from my phone, but several people here have called him a loser or nerd because he didn't tolerate this behavior.

I"m not eliminating that at all, but it really is besides the point. So what you are saying is that because the neighbor might be a whiny little brat, that BDJ should just ignore what CFH asked him to do in the meeting, if it took place as claimed? I don't care what the neighbor did, or what he is like. If it was bad enough that it took a meeting with the police, CFH, BDJ and the neighbor, and BDJ agreed to change the behavior, then he is in the wrong for not doing it. He is not a child. Time to grow up a little and act like a man, not some kind of an idiot.

Plus, like I said before....it is not like BDJ exactly came here with a clean slate. That makes it a lot more believable to me that he could be acting like an ******* in all of this.

This is how I feel about Matt White as well. No doubt it sounds like Nader and BDJ are terrible neighbors. I've had bad neighbors as well, and yes, it is frustrating. I didn't call the cops or coaches on them though. I stood up to them and dealt with them, directly to get it resolved, 'like a man'. Nader and BDJ seem like bullies, and the neighbor seems like a whiney little B****. Not a good living environment for either.

It's not surprising that numerous posters would immediately blame/suspect the neighbor of overreacting. There is a large segment of sports fan culture than consists of individuals who thrive on constant energy and excitement, and who have corresponding personalities that do not permit them to understand the perspective of people who appreciate peace and quiet, especially at night when they are trying to sleep.

Speaking for myself, I think if you live in an apartment, you should be ready to tolerate the murmur of TV or music, or conversations, in adjacent rooms, at least during the day and evening. You shouldn't have to tolerate anything beyond that. And leaving trash in the hallways is just plain uncivil.

You've got to be kidding me. People like you do not know the history of the situation, yet you calling Matt names. Matt stood up for himself and has talked to directly to BDJ and the coaches. Matt has a backbone you or his neighbors don't have.

I have 8 ams everyday. I have to go to sleep much earlier than anyone else. I would much rather have peace and quiet.

That said I recognize that in an apartment you will have noise even at night.
