The problem is, he really didn't do anything wrong. Otherwise, he'd be looking at more jail time and probably be suspended for the season. Fred only suspended him to put the situation to rest. And before you rehash whats been reported, remember, it is one side of the story, from the cops and the guy who called them. You can take them at their word, but that is rarely the full truth.
