That first 5 five minutes of second half was big. We had all the mo at halftime, they came out poor in second half and we did same thing.

The 2 bone-headed turnovers by BDJ and Georges at the start of the 2nd half were big in a negative sense.

I thought the game turned when, on consecutive possessions with a small lead, we pulled up and decided to play in the half court rather than push the tempo. Monte even hung in the backcourt on one and forced a streaking Niang to slow up and reset. That was inexplicable as we had momentum, but had been playing horribly in the half court. The game turned there as we never stretch the lead, then gave it back.

Were we really doing that? If so, Fred has to put a stop to that crap IMO. I don't mind having a little fun when you're up 25 pts with 4 mins left like at Iowa, but in a tight game like this, just shut up and play ball.

We do lack discipline. It's been my only problem with Fred's teams thus far.... too much talking and celebrating. I think a certain amount is good because it keeps the guys fired up, but when it gets too the point it's affecting your play, it's just stupid.

The one where Morris did the Mr America bicep pose after cutting the lead down to like 9 in the first half was irritating.

We have a bit of Baylor in us, we have a ton of talent, but sometimes we improvise too much.

Lastly this team needs to understand we are no longer a program who is a hunter we are now the hunted.

I agree with you, but sorry, that's been the secret of attracting talented transfers. I remember Kory Lucious, when asked about playing for Fred, saying that "it's cool, he lets you play your game, without being on your *** all the time."

Thanks for your input. I'll bet you were one of the same ones saying that about ISU last year at this point too, right? And then we went on to win the Big 12 Tourney and make the Sweet Sixteen.

This team will be just fine, and will do just as well as last year's team or better IMO. MUCH better than your Hawks will do, that much is for certain.

IMO we'll be perfectly fine. But that was very reminiscent of KC in our demeanor... Too few assists and not being able to throw one in the ocean will get you beat. I think if Fred was running along side Naz he would've said take it to the hoop on the last attempt but they're bang bang decisions at that point in the game. Also after the Naz TO it def looked like he was down on himself, terrible timing after seeing the first one go in.

I think playing against some awful teams like M.V State spoiled the team into trying some unrealistic and wild things that had worked against those poorer teams. But give South Carolina credit, they were the better team in every aspect.

That is just idiotic and unacceptable. Please tell me that Fred sat him down for that crap.

Nothing makes me more upset than to see idiots celebrating when getting their a** kicked.

I wish Fred would discipline these guys more. Don't get me wrong, I think we play better with a slight edge to us, but when we cross the line it is embarrassing.

Thank you posters for not creating 80 meltdown threads.

Mckay was the only bright spot. Everyone else was awful. Fred was totally out coached as well, frank made him look stupid. South Carolina is weak as well, they played like garbage as well.

Need to figure out if jones wants to be on this team or not also, don't want to pick on him as everyone was awful tonight. Not ojayibg a real game after Iowa is horrible scheduling as well.

Needed this to remind then what teams in the big 12 are going to do.

All that said, this is a meaningless loss if you take care of business in the conference, Freddy will figure it out, should win the big 12.

Ummm no. Fred's been doing it now for 3 or 4 years. He has a track record of taking teams past the first round of the NCAA Tourney. I believe because I've seen it happen year after year after year.

Now at Iowa, you guys are believing on blind hope. Fran hasn't proven he can take Iowa anywhere yet.
