My two have already been mentioned but Battle Toads and Bayou Billy. Those damn games were impossible. Glad to hear there were others struggling.

Oh what was the one called...Ninja Guidan or something like that? I don't remember much from it other than my friends and I always thought we were so close because the music would change (like whenever you get close to a boss) but alas, we'd go on what seemed like hours and still nothing except death.

You're right! You did forget about this guy between Don Flamenco 2 and Super Macho Man:

I played one a few years back called Viking: something something. Don't remember the rest of it. Started with an A. It was a fairly entertaining game, but I got to the point where I couldn't get past a part and said **** it.

Typically the only games I play are sports games, so there's often no real ending.

Couldn't beat Castlevania even thought I bought it with my NES and played it for years maybe more than any other NES game. Grim Reaper got me every time.

Played the Japanese version recently which is easier and beat it though.

Me too. If I remember correctly I saw a friend use holy water after holy water on him. Such a fun game.

Top Gun 2 seemed to get me within seconds after takeoff each time.

Russian Attack on Nintendo was pretty hard. I can't remember if I past ghosts and goblins either.

Ghosts n' Goblins on the NES was a ***** to finish. When I finally managed to beat the last boss, then it tells me it was all a dream and I had to play it all over again. With the small caveat that all the enemies were now twice as tough. ****** me off! However, I did manage to beat it all the way through. Truly satisfying moment.

The Grimm Reaper was no match if you had triple boomerangs and of course some power to play with.

That's impressive, I could never make it through the second play through.

I recently found my old original gameboy in the basement, the one with the green screen, it still worked and I had a copy of Battletoads on it. Infinitely harder on the tiny green screen that blurs when you move your character.
