I'm just happy Hampton doesn't come up every March. Sometimes it feels like it's been forgot about. I do see this every March though

Seriously? The video of the Hampton player carrying around his coach is regularly shown. Also shown regularly is Chalmers 3 against Memphis. Have any of those?

Note in my first post that I completely admitted that was an awful loss. You've done nothing but be defensive about all of the early exits (dictated by their seed) that Kansas has had in the last decade or so. Carry on.

Point being that KU has performed better in the Tournament as the Big 12's best than ISU has performed in the Tournament as the Big 12's best.

KU's never lost to a 15 seed. KU made the Final Four as a 2 seed just 3 years ago, which is something ISU was unable to do in their opportunity as a 2 seed.

So to sum up ISU as the frontrunner, no National Championships, no Final Fours, one extremely embarassing loss. Thanks for your spectacular resresentation of the Big 12.

Reading is fundamental. ...except for junior here. So read realllllll slow Champ and try to comprehend. No one is disputing that Kansas has, for the most part, carried the banner of the B12 and done a great job....until it comes to the current topic of this portion of the thread, NCAA Tourny performance against expectations.
No logical, sane person can deny, KU plays great all year, traditionally gets a great seed, then on the sports biggest stage......chokes more time than not.
Would I trade our history for KU's? You bet, except for the playing up to tourney expecations part.

This entire conversation is a defensive reaction to ISU fans being frustrated that KU looks poised to win the Big 12 again. Every year this happens the fans of the team that had the best shot roll out the "well, you'll probably choke in the tourney again" schtick just to feel like they can get one last shot in as they see the dream of a Big 12 title slip away to Lawrence yet again. Texas fans, then Mizzou fans and now ISU fans. This isn't new or original.

So just to make sure....your argument is that ku bball is > ISU bball?? I'm surprised you even feel the need to make that argument. Should be obvious.

They blew us out on their home court and we blew them out on ours. Not seeing how one is better than the other right now.
In Game 1, ISU led by 10+ for a total of 6:25 including none of the last 3:56 of the game and won by 5. In Game 2, KU led by 10+ for 16:45 including all of the last 10:24 of the game and won by 13.

They're just mad because last year they got to go home early during the Big12 tournament and the NCAA tournament while ISU and Baylor were still playing both. I know they have done better in previous years, but last year was hurtful to some of their fans. A Kansas fan I know said he did not care about not winning the Big12 tournament because the NCAA was more important. He claimed that Self did not push his players as hard so that they would have additional rest and do better at the NCAA. Then the NCAA happened and he disappeared for a few weeks after that.

I can't believe there are any KU fans on this board today. Don't they realize that today is the National Signing Day for football? Oh wait, that's right, $ already spent on basketball players, continue on.......:twitcy:

Here is the perennial "we can't finish ahead of them, let's claim they're cheating" post. Congrats on being the first!

Last year was a frustrating year for some KU fans because they lost a bunch of games, had a bunch of freshmen making dumb freshmen mistakes and then had a key injury that hurt their chances of advancing further in the tourney. There is zero frustration from last year based on how far ISU or Baylor made it or that they went further than us. Heck, if we are going to lose early at least you guys made it further so we get a larger conference payout from the ncaa. I was happy you and Baylor did as well as you did. And the Big 12 tourney? Don't care. It's fun when KU wins it but it is irrelevant in the long run. I have zero recollection of the years that KU has or has not won it. Not winning it or losing to ISU in it makes no difference to me at all. My only hopes for KU in the Big 12 tourney are that they don't get blown out in their opening game. After that they are usually playing good teams where a loss won't hurt their seeding significantly so winning or losing doesn't matter much other than having an extra game to watch.

So, uh, congrats on not ever being a #1 seed?!?

Congrats on jumping into a back-and-forth that you have nothing to do with. Your dorm buddy Fontana has decided to go all "tavern Jayhawk" on us in this thread, for some reason thinking he needs to point out that KU is historically better than ISU, and I'm responding appropriately.

Hey thanks. I look at life perhaps a bit different than you. Best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. When you see one rat, I can promise you there are fifty you don't see. I would guess you think that other perennial powers cheat? Kentucky? I guess KU is just different....
