This is the best our overall basketball program has ever been!

Just wanted to mention that cold hard fact since there are a lot of babies out there who can't get over losing a road game to a coach with a championship ring. I'm really sorry that this all hasn't gone perfectly and the rest of our conference keeps choking against Kansas but it's not like "our fault" you know? Maybe enjoy our ride to our first 4th consecutive tourney and accept that you might not get your National Title the exact year you wanted it? Just a thought...

I feel like I'm always the first to see these threads. You're a few days late with this one though. All the whining and fighting amongst ourselves ended a while ago.

EDIT: Nevermind. Not even the first to post on this one.

32-5 is still pretty hard to beat. Of course, I guess this team could win their next 17 games...........

Yeah, but that was a one year peak. Even the following year ended in most disappointing fashion. Fred is on his way to a fourth, and most likely 5th, straight trip to the tourney. We have also won at least one game each year in the tourney. Eustachy had a burst of success that was not sustained. This is a sustained level of success that I am pretty sure is unprecedented at ISU, and there is no reason to believe it won't continue.

I think ISU makes the tourney....a strong finish makes 4 straight years look a lot better than limping in.

This is certainly the most popular the program's been.

Overall. Haven't heard any drunken Hoiberg at the casino stories... or see him in pics with girls half his age that aren't members of his family. I loved those teams and Eustachy is a great coach that I am glad has things on track but that 32-5 didn't lead anywhere good.

Ever since someone posted that picture of Nala in the hottest Disney princess thread, I can't watch that scene without laughing when Nala gives Simba the **** me eyes. Makes it a little awkward when my daughter is watching it. "Daddy, what's so funny?"

I don't disagree with what you are saying, but ....the success LE had was only one year long primarily because Fizer left for the NBA. It is impossible to predict what may have happened had he stayed. No doubt ISU would have been a great team that next year, likely a FF team, so....I think you have to give LE the benefit of the doubt there. Of course, the Natty Light problem would still have existed, so.........

Don't get me wrong....I do think CFH is doing great things.....but that 99-00 team is still something to top, and a measuring stick for all ISU teams, imho.

I appreciate the thoughtful comments but I strongly disagree with your LE assessment. LE couldn't handle the pressure. And his flame out led to a step back for us plain and simple.

Um, I believe we won the Big 12, again, the year after Fizer left. Sure they burned themselves out doing it, but I'm not sure I've seen the current team leave everything they have on the floor one single night yet.
