Time for a roundabout!

You think 4 way stops are bad....imagine the morons navigating that little trickeroo...Honestly, in a perfect world, I love them, because it just keeps flowing...unfortunately, the morons in this world are the reason we can't have nice things.

I lived in Carmel, IN for 7 years. They have the most roundabouts in the country, per capita. It actually did make things go surprisingly quick. And hardly any accidents. Can't say that would be the case everywhere, but was surprised by it.

Emphasis on the last part.

Fiancee wanted a fall wedding. I didn't fight her on it. A part of me wanted a fall wedding myself, as it is far-and-away my favorite season.

But if she wanted a fall wedding, it has to be on a Saturday Iowa State isn't playing. Not just for the sake that Iowa State isn't playing, but if you want a fall wedding in Ames, it's just smart from the travel/hotel, etc. sense to pick a date in which Iowa State isn't playing.

I'm a little concerned with the roundabout in Gilbert given it is the main way to get to the high school. Take a bunch of new drivers and give them a round about. Thankfully I'm not in the area before 8am and after 3pm. Most times I use it there is no traffic.

I hate that roundabout. Had some close calls because high schoolers didn't realize/understand I had the right of way when I was heading to the high school.

Do they even how a roundabout works in Driver's Ed these days? I was never taught it. It was a word that wasn't even mentioned in my Driver's Ed classes.

Holy crap...even looking at the larger version and the diagrammed lines, I STILL can't figure out where I should drive to get from one end to the other. NO THANKS!

The vertical ones are the highway. The horizontal ones are the regular roads (looks like 126th or 131st). The ones that branch off are the ones to get on or off the highway. The sideways 8 looking part is to continue on the regular road.

got first electric bill for the new place. Not too bad for half a month. Go into the bedroom to see how cold it got in there today. 78.

DH forgot to turn it down this morning, looks like. Oof. Those nine hours probably cost as much as that electric bill.

Yield to the right. Pretty simple. Granted HS dippy do's probably don't get it but if you still have a brake in your car you will be fine.

No can do a roundee there. Too much grade change from the south and west. The two hills make this a place to avoid when snowing. People stop and can't get all the way through the intersection without spinning out.
