Thoughts and prayers for a fine man and his family. Hope it was a minor event and he quickly recovers. He's one of the best and brightest in this state.

Now WOULD be the time to email him and send best wishes, thoughts, and prayers his way.

Knowing JP, he'll figure out a way to convert a few to the good side or drum up some revenue from his hospital bed. Man is tireless! Get some rest and prayers for a speedy recovery!

I dunno much about heart attacks...would this keep him from being able to attend the Big 12 tournament and NCAA Tournament?

Stress is bad for your heart.

Have you watched many ISU games? I'm thinking JP shouldn't be within 100 miles of knowing how the game is going.

That is very surprising but he obviously has a lot of stress. He can't be all that old. Best wishes to a speedy recovery. And lets just win every game by twenty to keep the nail biters at bay.

I would think that no matter what his doctors will want him sticking close to home after he is released from the hospital. Think about Hoiberg....he had a minor procedure to replace the battery on his pacemaker and he missed two recruiting periods.

And we have no idea how serious his attack was. We all hope that because he is a runner and young that it was a minor one. But even a minor heart attack is pretty serious.

allen is better than the other Waterloo hospital for sure. It is a good sign that they haven't needed to transfer him elsewhere that is better than Allen.

Surprised to see several comments regarding Allen being the best in Waterloo. We lived in that area 20+ years ago. Then, Covenant was the overwhelming first choice for most people and Allen was just above your average vet clinic.

I'm a little worried that JP hasn't put anything out there yet, hope he has a speedy and full recovery. Seeing CW in an examination gown hasn't quite gotten me to call the Iowa Clinic, this probably will.

I don't think that Allen is any great shakes either (which is why I figure it is a good sign that Jamie is still there versus going to a bigger place) but my mom is a nurse who said that if the choice is taking her chances on her own or going to Covenant, she's taking a chance on her own. She's heard some stories. I think she's only half kidding.

I was born at Covenant...a long time ago though!

I'm surprised this type of thing does not happen more often. These ADs and college coaches are under so much pressure. Whether it be not having enough wins for the fan base to keeping butts in the seats. Hoping Pollard comes out of this ok.
